Suppressors YHM Phantom 7.62 QD Review

Re: YHM Phantom 7.62 QD Review

I pick up my YHM 308 can Saturday. I bought it becuase of it's versitility. I figure I can put it on my MM23 (HK23 want-a-be) and hammer away with it. I already have an old AAC M2000 that I shoot on the 16. This will be my beather can. I hear they are built like a tank.

This can is a platform whore...and I love it for that. Run it on the .223 and the .300WM. Makes .300BLK better. Great suppressor. Weight...it's PT...thank the can.

Re: YHM Phantom 7.62 QD Review

Figured I would add this here given it relates to the original post.

The QD Brake for the Phantom is out:

I have been searching the Internet for some feedback but no luck yet.

I find it really hard to believe that it is going to be any type of a real effective Brake, especially on a 7.62 rifle. I don't think that there is enough material to catch enough of the gases to have a real impact on recoil. I could see it have some impact on muzzle climb by redirecting some of the gases upward.

I am not running my Phantom 100% of the time, so it would be great to have the option to have a Brake in place when I am not.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
M Richardson

I have the same questions. I was looking at getting this muzzle brake since I plan on getting the YHM Suppressor to go with it in the near future.

Re: YHM Phantom 7.62 QD Review

The brake is out and I'm running it on my range kit. I just ran the YHM phantom on a Romanian AK-47. The AK is overgassed and with the gas exit at the mouth of the piston it's still pretty loud. The brake reduced the recoil of the .308 significantly and I'm having a blast running subsonic rounds with the can.

Video was an outing with a guy who hasn't fired many weapons...I'm trying to turn him

Advance to 2 minutes for the brake on a Savage .308.
