It happens in every hobby. I've only got it mild in guns, but I was a mainlining junkie in high end audio. You think guns be bad expensive? How about 35K for a phono cartridge.Then you need a 30K tone arm, on a 250K turntable. Now on to phono stage, preamp, amps, cabeling, and speakers. In idiot can easily drop a million. Yeah. Audio is crazy stupid. Clear Audio cartridges (some say) are really just overpriced AT (audio technica) junk. I will stick with Lyra, Soundsmith and air-tight. There are some that are 20k but ive never seen the clear audio jubilee this much. This is a Chinese scam probably.

Look up SAT tonearms and turntable.

VAC tube mono blocks.

Stupid money. It’s ridiculous.

I will admit though that I have 125k in my entire system.

And, yeah if it doesn’t sound good you dont know how to properly match your components.

This forum is what cost me a lot of money (inventory), I thought I was happy varminting with my Rem 40xb rangemaster. Somewhere around 2014 I got the 260 "Master Race" AI religion. Then .243 followed up by 6br and finally dasher. Plus it's easier to buy another AI and S&B and outfit it in another caliber so I don't have to waste time on the quick change barrel system. Suppressed AWSM, don't get me started. Area419, AMP - stay out of the reloading pages.

Was in Colorado two weeks ago shooting pdogs with the dasher. It's pretty much cheating. So this forum and associated costs have brought me joy.

I wouldn't call it junk, just over priced. Way over priced. AT is good stuff. Best cart I've had was a Transfiguration Proteus with the diamond cantilever. The openness and air were the best I've heard.
