Your PVA prefit experience

It's important for everyone to remember, there is still raw-material variation and tolerance stacking even with quality tools/suppliers/and work. In the modern world, we don't always see the industry equibliriate with a process that QCs to a 0.00% failure rate, its more economical to have 98 or 99 or 99.9 % etc standard (ie "good enough"), which means occasionally you will need to warranty a part or a service. This seem to be true even with higher-grade brands and product grades.

Bohem, what can you tell us about the WTL actions that you offer for barreled actions? How do they compare to the Solus? Also, will you be offering barreled actions with their action that doesn’t use a trigger hanger? Thanks in advance. Just trying to figure out what direction I want to go for the Black Friday sales.
Sure, I'll put something together and get some more photos in this thread. It's a non-trigger hanger version of the Solus attributes. It's also a really well built action, the headspace is tighter than the Aero's and they feel better to me.

What’s your current non-rush delivery estimates for RimX prefits?

Thanks
8 weeks, sometimes a little faster.

Was hoping to come here and tell yall how great my 18” carbon osprey in 25 creed shoots, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least not so far. Finally got a chance to go to the range today as my atx just got back from the smith’s. Got set up at the range and shot about a 1.5 moa 5 shot group @ 100 yards. Thought no big deal it’ll settle in after about 10 rounds. Let the rifle cool, and repeated with same results. Did this 5 times with the same results with the factory 134 elm’s. Thought maybe I had missed a step installing the barrel so broke it loose and retorted everything, even removed anything I thought might be contacting it. Shot a 2 moa group after that with factory 128 Eldx. By this point I’m pretty bummed and wondering if it’s just an off day for me so I grabbed my Geissele GFR and shot a .6 moa 5 shot group.

Not sure what to do at this point, going to check torque on the rifle chassis and see if something is off and if so I’ll shoot it again to confirm accuracy. If it won’t shoot I’ll ship it back to pva and see what they say. Really sucks as I sent them a box of factory Eldm and Eldx for them to measure when they were chambering the barrel. I guess the factory AI barrels have spoiled me a bit with factory ammo. Will update with my findings/results as I dig into this issue.
There's a lot of potential things that can happen here. Based on reading through the thread it sounds like there's more than just the barrel to be suspect about. Before we write off the barrel and replace it there's some testing that needs to happen and we'll be happy to walk you through it.

ETA: Ben just mentioned to me that he's replied to you, so we'll take the support offline rather than clog up a thread.

Currently our failure rate for blanks that end up in customer hands and the blank is bad is 1:337 or 99.703% pass rate. There's no such thing as a 0% failure rate in any industry, but with mechanical items anything above 95% is an exceptionally good FTQ number. We don't aim for the idea that "it's good enough" ever, but rather when something does happen we do our best to take care of it.

Since several folks mentioned "we're watching"

I spoke with @CStroud this morning for about 20 minutes and we have a solid plan moving forward once he gets the replacement parts for his scope mount.

Good speaking with you @bohem.

Badger just emailed, and they are sending me a new clamp rail, hopefully it will be here by this weekend so I can shoot again and we can get this thing sorted out. I plan on shooting at the house rather than going to the range so I can actually get pics of the groups without worrying about being shot in the rear lol.

Finally got a break from work to drag out my 7prc pva/cdg, 1125yds with 184gr berger/h1000@3050fps. This thing hammers and vertical is unreal.

 Damn, dude.... want a work-study job testing rifles? :ROFLMAO:

Awesome shooting!

That reminds me of something we got from a guy in Canada recently. This is 51 shots with his Osprey 6 something, a Dasher maybe?... ES 25, SD is 5.7

I confirmed it with him, it was indeed a 51 shot string. I asked him about the speed and he said "I don't care how fast it is when it shoots like this"

Does it pay in barrels? Lol

Yeh, plan on calling or emailing tomorrow when I know they’re open.
They will get you taken care of. I had to send mine back in the spring and although it was a little frustrating after spending so much on a barrel mistakes happen and PVA made things right and made it easy to deal with. If you do suspect somethings up I'd reach out to them and they will help you find a solution.

@bohem and I already spoke on the phone earlier this week. He wanted me to clean the barrel well and shoot it again. I haven’t received my part from Badger yet so I had to rob my 420 zco in a 419 mount from my Geissele rifle. I shot 15 rounds this time, the first round was like 3 mils high due to my boresight job, so once I got that sorted I fired 14 rounds across 3 groups. I gave the rifle about 10 minutes to cool down between the groups below.

I went back up to the house and swapped my barrel, bolt, and ammo (obviously) to my 6.5 prc setup from Fritz at Black Canyon that is unfired. I wanted to be sure it wasn’t me just having a bad day of shooting. The first 5 rounds through it had about an inch of vertical as the barrel settled in, but shots 6-10 are below.

I have ordered some Eagle Eye ammo to try rather than the factory Hornady in the PVA barrel. @bohem also mentioned sending me a few handloads to see if we could get it shooting which I’m open to if we can get it done in a reasonable time frame.
