Hey guys, I have a ZCO 5-27 and recently received a set of AADLand scope caps for it. My question for those of you who also have a similar combo, how well does your ocular cap fit over the diopter and locking ring? I figured I’d reach out here to see what you guys had to say as far as experience and or pictures. This is my second set from Jon, the first being for a s&b there were perfect.

While looking back to front, like you'd be lined up with your normal cheek weld, there should be "ZCO" printed at the 4:30 position of the cap assembly's ring that goes around the ocular (just above your bolt). The last set I ordered from John mis-shipped with a "SIG" cap and there was no way it was going to fit. If your cap says anything other than "ZCO", contact John and he'll get you taken care of right quick.

I did notice the ZCO printed on the cap the other day when screwing around with it that I hadn’t noticed prior. So I definitely have the right one unless the one for the 4-20 is different than the one for the 5-27.

That I don't know, I don't have any 4-20's. I'd suggest contacting John and asking.

(Oh, and resist the temptation to "just try and trim it a little" with a Dremel or something. It'll just turn into a dog's breakfast. (Don't) Ask me how I know......)

@[email protected] ; Are the ocular diameters/dimensions different between the 4-20's and the 5-27's ?

@Krob95 ; IIRC, the ring body was not difficult to install onto the scope's ocular. You will find the caps are stiff on opening/closing, particularly when new. I put a very, very small amount oil RemOil around the inside rim of the cap itself with a Q-Tip. Makes a world of difference. With time, the caps will loosen up. Your choice as to whether you want to lube them or not. Use any lubricant sparingly, you don't need very much. If you do apply it (with Q-tips), you'll be picking a little fuzz off the caps. Also no biggie.

I’ll definitely take your word for it because I honestly was thinking about breaking out the dremel to “relieve” some material 😂

When putting it on there did it feel like it seated up against anything? Or did you have to try and make sure it was on there evenly?
