Rifle Scopes zeiss conquest 4.5-14x50 vs weavertactical 4-20x50

Re: zeiss conquest 4.5-14x50 vs weavertactical 4-20x50

i think the weaver is FFP. i don't think that is ideal for hunting, esp if thick cover is likely. the smaller reticle @ low power might get lost in the cover. that i swhy i don't want a FFP scope. the experts here are likely to disagree, however.

I would look at a scope with illumination for low light hunting, and with decently bold/extended outer-crosshair bars in case the illumination craps out. Maybe the VX-R Patrol 3-9x or similar to stay in Conquest/Weaver price range.

Wouldn't go after the target-tactical flavor with features like -
28oz. or heavier weight
thin reticle (especially without illumination)
tall turrets made for snagging on things

I've got a Zeiss 4.5-14X50 on a 7mm-08 that I hunt deer with. It performs very well in low light conditions, which where I hunt about 90% of my shots come after sunset. I like it a lot.
