I just purchased an arma-lite ar-10t carbine with a 16" match barrel. My question is will a zeiss 3.5x10x44 conquest rapid Z 600 be compatible with this rifle
I shot a group of 10 rounds and got 1/2 Moa

Re: Zeiss conquest rapid z600

If you want to know if it will work for holdovers yes it will work fine. You can go to zeiss website and they have a calculator that will tell you yardages for your caliber and mv. or what power the scope needs to be set on for holdovers to be accurate at given yardage. It may not be exactly to the yard but it will be close. The only way to find out is to shoot it and know how it works for your setup. By the way fill out your profile and don't start 2 threads within 30 minutes of each other aking the same question as it just annoys others. As for the 1/2 moa group that doesn't have much to do with a reticle working for you.

If you stick around here you'll find out quickly that the general process is to read the stickies and learn the basics before asking questions like this. Basics are covered in the stickies. Gilly mentioned filling out your profile because when you want questions answered sometimes people need information about your gun(s) / location / etc in order to give useful responses. He's not being a jerk, he's being sensible. If you ask the same question in multiple threads it will annoy people because it means you're not following respectable procedure. You want help, you gotta work with the expected process.

What range was your 1/2 MOA group at and what does it have to do with the question? Did you shoot that with the zeiss scope or another scope or iron sights? What do you mean by 'compatible' with the AR-10? It's a scope and it magnifies light... yeah, if you put rings on it then it's compatible. Are you asking if the reticle itself if compatible with the caliber of your rifle? What do you want to do with the rifle - hunt? target? tactical matches? Need more information to answer your question. You just joined - good, but you need to ask a full question with some background facts to get an answer.

By the way, I have a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x with the z600 reticle on my 270WSM and it works just fine for big game hunting. That reticle is not a LR precision target reticle because you can't do all of the useful things that mildot and MOA (NP-R1 and NP-R2 style) based reticles offer. If you want a precision long range reticle in a zeiss scope get the mildot (I also have this on a 6.5-20x conquest and it's rather nice). As for the AR-10 I wouldn't personally get the z600 reticle for that gun unless you're hunting with it and need approximate hold over opportunities that the z600 offers.

I wasn't trying to be a prick. I thought I answered your question and made a recomendation to do a couple things to keep you from getting a bunch of people ragging on you for a couple basic things that are not appreciated on here where there is a lot of good information people typically dont read they just ask the same old questions. I hope my info on zeiss web page helped if you checked on it, I have looked at it for a couple hunting rifles to see if it would be a good fit.

Re: Zeiss conquest rapid z600

You should call Zeiss and ask them. If I recall correctly from my conversations with them, the Rapid Z600 is the best choice of the reticles for the 30 caliber. Be aware that you will have to get all of your data on your load and enter it into their computer to use the Rapid Z accurately. Also, the drops will only be good at one power since the scope is second focal plane. The way around all of this is to send it back and have them put target turrets on it. That is my recommendations. Theyn you have a good scope, holdovers, and the ability to dial in needed change. I have 3 of the Zeiss Conquest and I am happy with all of them.
