Do any of you guys have experience with the 10x42 Zen Ray ED2 Bino? I'm considering those and the current Vortex 10x42 viper as I'll need them (this week)before March when the Vortex HD's come out according the folks at Vortex.

The Spec's look impressive for the $ and the comments I have found on the web are mostly positive. Any first hand experience here would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I haven't seen any comparison between ZEN ED2 and Viper. But from the reviews I have seen, it seems the concensus is ZEN ED2 is better than Vortex Razor. Has anyone tried their 7x36? I am considering it as a treestand binos

My eyes prefer the glass of the Zen ED2 over that used in the Vipers by a large margin. Nothing against the Viper but it doesn't run with the ED2 glass.

Actually, the ED2 is more comparable to the Vortex Razor and I actually prefer the Zens over the Razor as well. The depth of color & field of view is just fantastic with the ED2 glass.

Best of luck to you.

Had a pair of 7x36. They're decent enough, extremely sharp in the center but it begins to degrade towards the edges a bit too soon for me.(about 65/70% off axis) It's a compromise for the extra wide field (477ft@1000 in memory serves) and low cost. Many love them so it might be worth a shot. Very subjective decision with these.

I have had them a little while now and have hunted them and tested them. Great glass, amazing at under $360 shipped from a hide vendor...
I'd buy them again at this point...
