To summarize the Vortex: It's 95% of the way there for over a thousand+ less, but comes in a color you don’t like with a passable reticle and other options.

    It is the value option.
My biggest gripe is how heavy it is. Besides that, it is a pretty good bang for the buck. Zeiss S3 6-36 is also pretty comparable.

The Razor G3 are a great value option if yours is good to go out of the box, but even if its sent back it gets the turrets and other items corrected in typically two weeks.

With ZCO and Tangent the overall consistency between samples are much better overall.

I misspoke about the reticle if you want to update your quote. I meant there are NO other options for the Vortex at present. If the reticle and price work for you it’s a great, albeit as mentioned, heavy option.

My ZCOs and Tangents haven’t been terrifically consistent, but they’ve all been good. The JTAC I sent back to Armament came back exactly like the G3XR I had in hand (read: great), some kind of o-ring situation I’m told. The broken ZCO I sent for service came back exceptional, but different from an older ZCO I had also sent back previously that I’d call acceptable.

All that is to say I look forward to the 10M turret model I have on order.

Wait...didn't you tell me and @GBMaryland how much you disliked ZCO and we all need TTs? Something about turret markings not lining up exactly, IIRCC?

So, now you will have three of them? OG old one, another you sent back and was returned "exceptional", and one with the 10M turret?

hahaha....good for you, glad you are having fun with optics.

    :)

No…I have 0 ZCOs at present. One needed the erector assembly replaced because it was defective, that’s what you’re thinking of. It one came back “exceptional” and I sold it. I have a 10mrad turret model on order. I don’t “dislike” ZCO, I haven’t had much luck with them and found the performance of Tangent Theta better side-by-side. YMMV. Enjoy your scopes.

It’s Nightforce that can’t get their turret markings right. 😂 you’re mixed up old man.

Ah....I've done scope tracking tests with my 5-27 and the erector movement is perfect and returns to zero...again, perfect.

But I'm sure Frank and Marc will still make me pull it off the gun and test it at Mifflin this Sep! haha

The ZC527 MPCT2X 15 MIL Locking or NLE are starting to come in! I like the changes made where the combined some of the features of the MPCT3X and MPCT2. Check it out! (No ETA on the 10MIL NLE at this time)

Sorry to be dense Richard but what is the difference between this locking 15 MIL turret versus the original one that I bought. I thought the changes to the turret design were only included with the NLE 10 MIL version

This one is a Non Locking Elevation 15 MIL which I believe yours was the standard 15 MIL locking off of memory.

So in the future the turret options when everything current is released will be:
    Locking 15 MIL (Standard)
    Non Locking Elevation 15 MIL
Non Locking Elevation 10 MIL coming 'soon'
And rumor has it that the NLE 10 MIL has some improvements. Correct?

Can you buy the NLE 15 mil turret and install it yourself on the 15 mil 527? I’m not a fan of the locking system. At least the one I’ve got.

Can you do a video with some side beside turret dialing with a TT? I know you got an open box TT laying around 🙂

Yes we do! But the sound through a video does not really tell a story IMO. The TT P series turret acts like a speaker which I just seem to realize playing with it more. Anybody can call me at 916-628-3490 and I can go over both scopes in more detail :)

    Here ya go!

Holy crap. I assume that’s you in the video. You looked like my wife asking me to open a jar of pickles when you got to the ZCO 10 mil. You had to readjust your grip to turn it. Have you mounted it up yet, and if so, does it seem any more fluid to dial mounted on a rifle?

The ZCO was also the only scope that was not in a mount:

True, mount definitely helps stabilize it.. I was pushing the scopes up against the wall with pressure to try and make it even… all are very nice! That TacOps can’t come soon enough for the ZCO… shooooot, might have to just mount it up on another rig and shoot it while I wait.

Also, did you see our video?
