AW or AICS Mag for a Savage 4.40 double stack action

Hi Guys:

I reviewed the sticky and learned the AW and AICS mags fit in the same bottom metal.

The Issue is feeding as the AW is a true double stack the feed rails have to be modified to feed from a double stack column.

The older Savage actions are Double Stack Feed.

I am sending my rifle to CDI Precision for their 4.40 Savage Bottom metal (install + pillar bedding + feeding work). I am thinking that I should just stick with the AW magazines (cheaper and smaller).

Do I have this right?

Did I miss something?

I had CDI mill the bottom of my stagger feed savage to accept the AW mags. Very reliable setup for several years now.

I just run the AICS mags in my savage. I have the accurate mag bolt in bottom metal for newer savage 4.40 accu stocks. Its a pretty sweet setup. Im running it in my light weight 223AI.
