At the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center.
If you’re coming from out of town, see our list of places to stay.

$125 per shooter. Includes range fees, class room instruction, course material, line coach, drinks, and lunch.
Please note that there are no refunds for cancellations.

    Prerequisites
You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must be able to legally own a firearm.

Tactical rifle scope with Mil or MOA ranging reticle (not a simple crosshair nor ballistic reticle) and elevation adjustment turret.
    70 rounds of ammunition.
Empty Chamber Indicator Flag (you can pick one up during registration for $1.00).
Eye and ear protection are mandatory.
    Rifle Sling.
A backpack or shooting bag to carry all your kit in.

We will have water available on the firing line and in the target pits.
You may want to bring snacks that you can eat on the go. Lunch will be provided.
Please have your rifle zeroed at 100 yards. All of our drop data is based on a 100 yard zero.
Make sure your gear is mobile as you will walk to the various shooting distances. You must carry your rifle and all gear, so bring only the essentials (no wagons/carts). Practice setup and re-packing of your gear beforehand. Things move fast as we go from one line to the next and you need to move quickly.

    Agenda
Your morning will begin with classroom instruction. Topics will include:
◾Introduction to our shooting discipline here at Sac Valley Shooting Center.
◾How to run your rifle and optics.
◾Prone and positional shooting tips and techniques.
◾Data Development – gathering actual data for your rifle and load.
◾If time permits, we will cover rifles, caliber choice, and equipment.
    ◾Safety Brief.
You will then grab your rifle and gear and head down range in one of our vehicles. You will be assigned to one of two relays. Relay 1 will shoot first and start at the 200 yard line. Relay 2 will head to the target pit area and receive instruction how how to pull and mark targets.
You will shoot from 200 to 1,000 yards. Each shooter will have an experienced coach on the firing line to help with ballistics, wind calls, and getting DOPE out to 1,000 yards or as far as your equipment will allow you to safely shoot. We walk the entire range for all distances, including a return to the target pits from the 1,000 yard line.
Please note that you must follow all safety procedures and be aware at all times. Anyone that violates a safety procedure or cannot get on target will be removed from the clinic.

I received word this morning that the clinic filled up in three minutes after opening.

To all the shooters coming to the clinic this weekend:

The forecast is showing 80 degrees for Saturday with winds from 5-9 mph. Because of the high heat we'll be experiencing from now until then, please take steps to start getting and staying properly hydrated for this weekend. Proper hydration starts some days ahead, not the day-of. Remember that laying on the hot gravel increases the temperature above ambient at ground level, so proper hydration is very important for the weekend. Don't let your weekend be ruined by not getting and staying hydrated beforehand.

Also keep in mind that light-colored outer layers reflect heat and dark colors retain heat and can make things worse.

It will suck if we have to pull you off the line because you are experiencing a heat-related illness that could have been prevented. Plan ahead so you can have an awesome weekend of shooting.

    See you Saturday!
