Accessories Breitling Chronomat 32

I am looking to sell my wife's Breitling Chronomat. The specific model number is A77310101K1A1. It is a Chronomat 32 with Pink Dial with diamonds in hour markers.

I purchased this watch in November 2021 for $4,500. It has a 5 year warranty.

$2,750 shipped. Might be open to trades.

The watch is in excellent condition. There are only a few very faint marks on the bottom of the bracelet. I have all the original packaging, paperwork and warranty cards.

I will attach more pictures in the next day or so.

Reloading Die choice

I haven’t bought rifle dies in quite sometime. I have primarily Redding but also use Forester seaters in some calibers. I’m going to start loading 6 Dasher here shortly, and need to buy dies. How much better are dies like SAC, Bullet Central, or Whidden? I like the concept behind the SAC neck shoulder sizing die, but wondering if the bullet seater is worth the cost. Do you bushing/FL/ mandrel all in one, break it up? If I were to try another seater other than the Forester what is a good direction? I can load on a Dillion 550, Rockchucker, or a Harrels precision turret press. Thanks.

Long Range Supply

Last November I decided to to get a March Majesta 10-80 scope with the F-Class reticle. These seem to only be available on a build-to-order basis, stretching out to 12+ weeks. Long Range Supply offered it at a good price but with payment in full upfront. Given the hustle & lack of capitalization in this industry, this requirement created some trepidation on my part but after a couple conversations with Don Carter at LRS I went ahead. Long story short: Don is a professional, by which I mean he does what he says he will do & does it when he says he will do it. He is a good communicator; I have my scope and recommend LRS to anyone considering purchasing from them.

SEMIAUTOS - SHOULDERS GETTING BUMPED UPON CHAMBERING

Haven’t really seen much discussion on this topic elsewhere.

In a 5.56x45mm AR, letting the bolt fly loose onto a round can set the shoulders back by as much as 0.004” to 0.005”, depending on the make of brass (Federal GMM and Bulk .223 Remington in those 300 round boxes - they’re soft!).

In effect, if I had insufficiently headspaced brass at, say +0.004”, and release the bolt onto a chamber with headspace measured at +0.001” - the brass (empty OR loaded) will, more often than not, still chamber.

IMG_1648.jpeg
IMG_1649.jpeg

Note: Relative measurements were obtained using Forster Case Gauges and an L. E. Wilson Case Gauge Depth Micrometer. For example, Case Gauge 1.4636 allows the bolt to close with light finger pressure sans ejector. This Case Gauge measures at exactly 0.000” using a Headspace Gauge and the Micrometer pictured above. All sized brass is made to approximate the same headspace of 0.000” +/- 0.002”.

Since I know the exact headspace of my chamber - and that the act of chambering a round also bumps the shoulders fairly effectively - why not FLS and headspace brass to match the chamber’s headspace as close as possible, instead of following the usual recommendation of -0.003” to -0.005” less than that of a fired case (and we know how insufficient those values can be with overgassed rifles)?

At the moment, my brass matches the headspace of my chamber by +/- 0.002”, and I haven’t had any reliability or accuracy issues over the last 420 rounds (this AR is a range toy). I’ll only have to worry about “squishspacing” the oversized 0.002”, not the undersized half.

Any negatives to this approach?

ECCO Machine Alternative - HUB Mount

So now that ECCO Machine is no longer a source for modify suppressors to HUB mount, WHO is the Current Best source for having this work done?

I did just reach out to a guy that used Thundercans/Shaw and could only speak to the appearance of their work. His reply of, "they look fairly decent" was not very inspiring, lol. And it may be a week or two till I hear from him regarding range time.

In ear/ear bud hearing protection reccomendations and an ear pro question

I would like some in-ear/ear bud electronic (sound amplifying) hearing protection to use instead of my muffs when not shooting a lot of rounds or in enclosed areas.

My only real criteria are that they be tethered together and have hooks over the ears as I find I often knock ear buds out of my ears. Battery life and durability is also important.

Also regarding hearing protection I understand muffs reduce vibrations that carry sound to your ear and that plugs alone aren't as good.

That said on a scale of 1 to 10, with zero being no hearing protection, one being cigarette butts or 9mm cases, and ten being foam plugs jammed right into your ear canals combined with gel cup muffs how good are ear bud type plugs alone?
