SOLD Tac Ops Drag Bag

Like new Tac Ops Drag Bag (Size Large) in MultiCam. I purchased this on here from another member a few weeks ago, and its just been sitting in my armory (spare room)...:sneaky:

Housed my rifle for that time, but never made it out of the house. Comes with shoulder straps and shooting mat.

Awesome, heavy duty MADE IN THE USA bag, but I am selling my rifle, so I am in no need of such a bag anymore.

Asking what I have in it since it wasn't used by me... And I do believe it was not used by the previous owner. Might have a loose dog hair here and there... Checked as best I could, but those cattle dogs like to shed everywhere...

$325 shipped, CONUS. Paypal, Venmo preferred. Personal check OK but must clear before shipping. Will meet FTF in SW OH.... Located in Dayton area.

Infrastructure

The last and newest section of Interstate Highway was completed 32 years ago. It never reached the West Coast.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has claimed the section of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon in Colorado, completed in 1992, to be the last piece of the Interstate Highway System, as originally planned, to open to traffic.

First Precision Bolt Gun: Bergara B14 HMR vs Tikka T3X Lite

Bergara B14 HMR vs Tikka T3X

  • Bergara B14 HMR

    Votes: 17 26.2%
  • Tikka T3X

    Votes: 48 73.8%

So I’ve decided to get I want to give precision shooting with a bolt gun a try but I was hoping for some input.

I’ve narrowed it down to either a Tikka T3x Lite or Bergara B14 HMR. Those seem to be my best bet, especially based on availability being left handed.

I haven’t settled on a caliber although I’m leaning towards 6.5 Creedmoor., but .308 isn’t completely ruled out. I’m not sold on either one and not invested in either one outside of having half a case of M80 for my M1A. I know most say 6.5 is easier to shoot well but .308 will keep you honest and make you a better shooter. But I don’t really have any ranges longer than 300yards near me which has me leaning .308. But I can find longer ranges if I drive further.

As far as the rifles, I don’t have any intention of throwing it in a chassis, at least not right away, but I know being a lefty, there’s more options for the B14 being R700 based, ie KRG.

I like that the B14 takes AICS magazines as it is where the T3x needs new bottom metal. But the Tikka can take prefit barrels which would nice if I were to decide to change calibers for any reason. I also like the more vertical grip on the stock of the B14. But both seem to have great aftermarket support for a lefty.

I think the Bergara comes with a threaded barrel factory and the particular Tikka I was looking at doesn’t which obviously makes adding a muzzle device easier since I plan on eventually suppressing the rifle.

I see more people praising the reduced bolt throw (60° iirc) and smoothness of the Tikka action compared to the Bergara action (90°)

I’m planning on around $1k for just the rifle, then save up a bit for a scope and rings. Hopefully purchasing in the next month or so.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, if it seems long winded and rambling, the bolt gun world is new for me. Tell me what that pushed you to the T3x or B14 or anything that went into your decision. Also, I feel it’s probably worth mentioning I don’t reload.

Winchester 1894 restoration

Hey everyone. I have an 1894 Winchester 32 special that I inherited from my late dad. It’s been passed down for a few generations now. That said it will NEVER be up for sale or trade due to sentimental value. So, obviously sale value doesn’t matter to me, but I’m curious about restoring it. The wood is solid, but has some minor dents and scratches due to age. The steel is not rusty, but the finish is worn off on the barrel and action. Basically I’m wanting to know if anyone can give me some pointers on restoration of this old beauty. I’ll pull the stock off to strip and refinish, but I’m curious about how I should refinish the steel. Should I just have it blued? Or some other option? Thanks.

Should I run a 6mm GB?

  • I don't like 6mm, please run another one of these in other calibers!

    Votes: 6 9.8%

Here's the link to the GB Item on our website. It goes live on May 1 at 10am.
I'll push it on social media as well but I wanted it to be easy to find here too.

We moved the shop in January and in the tornado of activity that is a shop move we stuffed a whole batch of 6mm blanks in a dark corner and forgot where it was. When I couldn't find them we quickly made another batch knowing that at some point they would surface and we'd have a bunch of 6mm blanks.

That happened on Friday. Turns out they were in a crate at the pile of crates and pallets that each of us thought we had already looked through. Lo and behold... We have 98 extra 6mm blanks. (It was 100 but Ben just told me he's keeping 2 for himself)

So, rather than dribble them out here and there Ben suggested we run a Group Buy for the Hide at 15% off on 6mm options. The only way this works is to focus on a few calibers and streamline the process and do them all at once. So, that being said: Is there interest in it to make an endeavor worth it?

It would be any of our standard tenons on the everyday list with the following calibers, contours and finish lengths.
Calibers:
6 BR
6 BRA
6Dasher
6 GT
6XC (0.150 FB with Tubb print circa 2016, not 22-250 brass print)
6x47 Lapua
6 Creed
6 PRC (I doubt this is going to be all that popular but we have a 6 PRC reamer that Ben really wants an excuse to use)

Contours:
Bartlein 3B
Brux #5
Light/Medium/Heavy Palma
M24
MTU
Proof Comp

Muzzles:
No Threads
5/8-24

Flutes:
None, Spiral or Straight

Lengths:
18/20/22/24/26

I talked to Evans Customs and they're willing to offer a 15% discount on cerakote too.

If we do it, the GB will open on May 1st and run for 7 days (or when the 100 blanks run out). Lead time is 4 weeks from close of the GB, add 2 for cerakote and/or fluting.

So there, a prefit at 15% off and turn time of 4 weeks.
