Sidearms & Scatterguns Sig just can't get out of their own way

In the last few years, a thread will pop up on these forums about a Sig P320 that had a ND. It usually goes into a the Sig is a pos with other people talking about how great it is.

On March 7th, Sig decided the best course of action was to make a statement to the entire world here.

It's you, it is not the pistol

The TLDR is that nothing is wrong with the P320. If you criticize the 320, you are either working for Michael Bloomberg trying to strip away our 2A rights or you are a communist. The comments under the post are really funny (worth a read).

After getting completely roasted by the internet, Sig doubles down because they won a court case.

See, we told you it was you and not the P320.

Again the comments are hysterical and worth a read. I am going to jump in here and mention that there are currently almost 100 active cases in court against Sig (Lexus Nexus source). To date, Sig has lost six cases where they have been found at fault.

Then we have this bit of joy show up on the internet. Achilles Heel Tactical is holding a class. The instructor is going over the previous drill and there is a discharge on the range. He walks down the line and before he gets there says something like, "Is that a 320"? He then instructs the student to remove the gun from the range.

The two range officers behind the firing line both have said the student did not have his hand on the pistol. The six people immediately beside him all said he did not have his hand on the pistol and was holstered. Altogether, eight eye witnesses said it was in the holster and was a ND.

Bad angle, but you get the idea.

The training company (Achilles) released the following statement.

Achillese.jpg

This guy has released two videos on what he thinks is the mechanical problem with the pistol, if you are interested in why the pistols may be NDing it is interesting to watch.

Sig go boom

New Bushnell G5I Reticle

I just recieved the new Bushnell XRS3 with the G5I reticle.. Posted a pic thru it at 28 magnification at a set of rocks at 2400 yards. Glass quality is on par with Nightforces NX8 Line of scope but my 5-25 ATACR wins on clarity(cant tell with my chitty phone camera). Today was a perfect day to look thru optics for comparison to see what had the clarity. I rather have the EQL reticle but recieved this as a replacement for my HDMRII that had the diopter assembly failure. Bushnesll is out of stock on anything with the EQL until Septemberish. I think this reticle would be great for hunting as it is pretty clean compared to my H59s and T3s. Anywho just posting for those who are curious.

Happy Trails

“Built to the same high standards as Bear Creek Arsenal’s renowned rifles and uppers..."

Does Mile high have the best customer service?

I think they might.

I ordered a Magnus back in July and I didn’t call them to pester them for when it might come in but once or twice because I don’t want to be “that guy“. But each time they’re like “no problem man we get these calls all the time.”

Then I got a shipping notice a week ago, but it didn’t really contain a lot of information so I called to make sure they had my SOT on file and they did and we’re very nice and helpful again

The can was intended for a bear hunt next week and obviously will not arrive in time so I got to reading about the Magnus and since it is going on a magnum caliber, I would probably be better off having the full-size rather than the “S” especially since I decided the ultra seven I have is a better suppressor for my hunting needs. So I called them again to see where it was in the system and if it was already on a form 3 or whatever and the guy went down and found that it was about to ship out, but he said “no problem. We can cancel that order. Not a problem at all.”

I honestly wonder if it’s not already on a form 3 and it’s gonna be a pain to cancel the order - we shall see

But regardless, they have to be some of the most pleasant guys to interact with whenever I call them on the phone and they will preferentially receive my business for everything I need in the future

SOLD Arc CDG, MPA comp, B&A, Minox, etc

Looking to sell some extra stuff laying around.

ARC CDG SA - pivoting - 30 moa - with 223, 308, and mag bolt faces. Small bit of burnishing on front guide face that interfaces with guiding action in to the lugs. (NOT on the lug surface) discussed with Arc and it has no impact on function or safety. Just a trade off from not having any guide rails and using bolt body to guide. Gen 1 trigger hangar that has been clearanced for a timney/B&A

Asking $1125 for action - 3BFs - and action wrench. Can throw in PBB 6.5 prc barrel for $50

Minox ZP5 3-15 MR2 reticle - no rings, comes with box and caps. Glass is amazing. By far my favorite scope but I need two scopes so this has to go. $1600

B&A 2 stage flat shoe Tacsport Pro - $210

MPA Comp - older model, no spigot, and some of the hardware has surface rust. Mechanically sound, just not the prettiest. $550

Atlas PSR w/ RRS clamp $265

Multiple items can be worked for package deals
Only trades are as follows:
Athlon Cronus g2 4.5-29
Steiner h6xi
Bushnell LRHS2

Devildog Hog 6.5 Creedmoor feed problem. Ideas?

Bought rifle used a month ago. I immed noticed feed & eject problems with several Hornady ammo types, but Hornady Match seemed to work ok. That's now changed. Hornady Match no longer feeds or ejects reliably. As you read the symptoms, keep in mind that symptoms have gotten progressively worse over the last month of prob 60rds fired. Ideas from the brain trust?

Symptoms:

1) The pic below shows the part I'm talking about. As I understand it, that bit is the (I'm making up the name) positive feed case rim grabber. To my surprise, it flops in and out of position, vs. having any spring behind it that might keep it flush with the bolt face or proud of the bolt face. Sometimes it seems to grab a rim, sometimes it stays rearward and doesn't grab the rim, sometimes it goes proud and the case sits not on the face of the bolt but on top of the forward rim grabber. Spring missing?

2) Rounds don't want to chamber all the way in. Sometimes I can see them hanging on the case rim grabber and therefore not seating back against the bolt face, but sometimes the rear of the case seems to fit against the face fine but the bolt is still reluctant to go the last little bit forward so that it can then be rotated down. To be clear, the bolt won't rotate down into place when feeing a round. Sometimes the case looks to be properly positioned under the rim grabber, sometimes it's sitting on top of the rim grabber--but either way, that bolt isn't gonna rotate.

If every round was sitting on top of the forward (proud) positioned rim grabber, that would explain ammo getting shoved too deep into the chamber, but since many of the cases don't appear to get stuck on top of a proud rim grabber, but instead the case's rim is properly seated under it, I worry that I'm looking at more than one issue.

3) Once the round is fed such that the bolt is forward, but won't rotate down, now the bolt won't go rearward w/o a gentle tap with a rubber mallet. Like maybe the rim grabber has a good grip on the round, but the round doesn't want to come out.

I called Devildog so see if they might have some insights, but they're not answering their phones nor responding to emails. They also don't make the Hog anymore.

Bolt does fine with no ammo. Symptoms same with both mags. using a chamber brush, I cleaned the heck out of the chamber area. There's no failure of the cartridge to move forward from mag to chamber, it's the last couple mm of round insertion that is the problem. Rounds eject fine, once bolt gets bonked open.

I'm thinking the rifle needs to go a smith. Be good to have some insights tho.
