Suppressors Can I recore a 7.62 SDN6?

FWIW I sent my OG TiRant 45 to AAC last week for a “rebuild “. $60 and three days later it’s in the mail back to me.

It was “pre-21” so not covered under current lifetime warranty.

It had many, many rounds though it and while fairly clean, carbon or something got in the 3-lug system and I could not get the hub/piston/lug assembly apart. I tried for weeks; soaks, solvents, heat. It initially un- threaded about 1/3 of a turn, but then locked up solid. Best $60 I have soent in a while. The $35 return shipping made me sad.

212eldx in .308 hybrid cases?

Primers can, but it will expose your weakest link. In my case, AI's with the large firing pin holes are already known to crater most loads, this will magnify it even more. I stopped going any higher on loads when I get a pierced primer. I have yet to get a primer leak around the edges. Now with the small firing pin AI's, they do better and they get hard to lift like any other gun with the higher pressure loads. This is a very small sample size of 2 rifles, and 4 barrels so far.

As a society we have been conditioned to be low information decision makers. Single points or buzz words are what most people base their decisions on for the most part.

I think your comment on point #1, while true is extreme. The drive to lower inflation was a point DJT made during his campaign. That has happened regardless of the mechanism and the meme was just as example of how the left will get pissed at anything he does. There is also a gulf between theory and reality. There will never be 0% inflation.

Point #2 misses the scenario where supply has slightly outpaced demand leading to a lowering of price to get rig or lower inventory. That does not lead to a recession and it one of the most basic premises of supply and demand.
You missed the point.

Supply either outpaces demand because nobody wants the product or the price is higher than what most are willing to pay for it. I am talking about the fact that we are in a macroeconomic environment where the price is too high and will have to come down to meet the price point where people are willing to spend. This is the linking of the two points you missed; prices fall because people are choosing not to buy and banks aren’t willing to lend at the previous rate (how most money is created), both contributing to the decrease in the velocity of money. But people will at the same time say inflation is reducing, never seeing what’s occurring economically.

Which 18” 5.56 Barrel

I think that one or two of those will usually out perform the others (Craddock is most frequently considered here). However I don't think that any of those will really disappoint either...but you do have a slightly higher chance of getting a dud with some.

I've got three Wilsons, a WOA, and a Criterion on my rifles that I'm concerned about "MOA or better accuracy" out of, and all deliver. I also have a Proof, but haven't got to the point of testing it yet. I did get a dud Ballistic Advantage...but their replacement has shot well.

I guess cost vs expectations vs your intended role for the rifle should be considered.

I have a factory FN DMR II that is ~1.25 MOA with 64gr Speer Gold Dot...and it kills everything I need it to out to 250.

212eldx in .308 hybrid cases?

Damn, I really want to order some but now I'm discouraged with knowing it's all mixed.

I keep all my stuff sorted by lot and this would not play well with me lol.

That's a unsorted headstamp group BTW.

I have said this in another thread, but they do have quite a lot of variance in case weight. I haven't measured all the headstamps for water capacity yet. This week I will.

I shoot with another member here and we both are working up loads with the Hybrid cases. I'm shooting at AXMC with a large firing pin and he is shooing his in a AI with a small firing pin. Small firing pin seems to take more pressure and not pierce primers. I would run into pressures sooner probably around 75K PSI if my calculations are correct on Gordons and QL.

What did you do in the reloading room today?

I was having similar problems last winter.

This set up started out as a V2 AutoTrickler, as evidenced by the Stop/Start labels that I put on the scale cover back in 2019. This was before the V3 Bluetooth upgrade that came later.

Anyhow, to make a long story even longer, last fall my scale started acting weird once in awhile, usually in the middle of a long session that involved more than fifty charges being thrown.

It would begin to refuse to go back to zero between throws occasionally. Not plus or minus .02, but sometimes as much as .04 or .06 off of zero.

I’d stop the target weight, make sure there wasn’t powder where it shouldn’t be, fiddle around with the cup, re zero the scale and calibrate it.

Things would return to normal until the next hiccup. Eventually it began to happen more frequently.

I emailed Adam and went back and forth with him and Laura and we decided my power transformer was going bad, as evidenced by the craziness mid session and subsequent return to normal after screwing around with it for 10 minutes or so, allowing the transformer to cool off.

While I waited for the new transformer to get here from Canada, Laura suggested I try the transformer that originally came with the scale and it worked.

They also said they’d recently changed vendors for the transformers.

The original AFX transformer worked well enough until I got my official new vendor transformer from Canada.

You might want to try a transformer.
You’ll get it faster from C&E.

Interesting. I've had my v4 for getting close to a year. I have to put my cup on perfect every time. If the handle doesn't face the exact way it's off by about 2-10grs

Silencer Central, if true Phuck them!

Why is the 2A community filled with so many ignorant bandwagoning retards?

Back in 2023 Silencer Central was open about supporting said bill H.R. 6352. Their blog post about it is still available and up and explains the bill and what it does.

“WHAT IS THE TAX STAMP REVENUE TRANSFER BILL?The Tax Stamp Revenue Transfer for Wildlife and Recreation Act is a significant milestone for wildlife, hunters, and shooting enthusiasts. Supported by Silencer Central, America’s largest silencer dealer, along with 12 other companies & organizations the bill proposes redirecting 15% of tax stamp revenue to expedite the processing of suppressor applications, addressing the current lengthy waiting periods. The remaining 85% would fund the Pittman Robertson Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund, supporting wildlife conservation, law enforcement, hunter recruitment, and the development of recreational shooting ranges. For more details, check out the bill here.”

But hey, it's not like Guns & Gadgets has a long history of posting complete bullshit to increase views or anything. Oh, wait....

@RAVAGE88 Acknowledging accuracy as highest priority in any new development, I do hope the magazine can have a follower button to facilitate loading, especially Lapua rounds in summer. Thanks from the arthritic-handed septuagenarian.
Although you made me laugh, I do take the button part very seriously. There's definitely a button in my new magazine(s).

Silencer Central, if true Phuck them!

Are suppressor purchasers being raped by the manufacturers and vendors? Yes. Not very much different than the machine gun market, just in a less extreme scale. A $30,000 transferable M16 today, is a $600 gun if the NFA gets Thanosed.

(Good news, recent settlement may have just done it, sorta, with FRTs back on market)

I’d love to see foreign competition push US suppressor manufacturers not to accept the status quo. Would this bring prices down? Yeah, some. But, in an analogous market, Tasco scopes aren’t putting much pressure on US Optics. I don’t think the hypothesized sub-$100 Amazon Specials are going to force TBAC to match price.

6000 psi gas vents? I just found a calculator for muzzle pressure. A 62 grain 5.56 bullet fired from a 20” barrel at 3000 fps would have a muzzle pressure of ~18,000 psi. Do these vents silencers need to allow a bullet to escape unimpeded, while also bringing the sound levels down to (near) hearing safe? What is the temp of these venting gases? Are there negative consequences if these gas vent silencers experience thermal events that alter the vent path? And, are these vent silencers expected to be non-replaceable parts?

Back to race mufflers, how much pressure do they experience? Like 10 psi?

What is a fully Semi-automatic rate and how fast is that?
“Fully semi-automatic” is a humorous euphemism for fully automatic fire (taken from some legislator that didn’t know anything about firearms, but was quite enthusiastic in speaking out of their ass.). Rates are generally somewhere around 4-500 rounds per minute on the slow end up to maybe 1100 rounds per minute on the really ludicrous end, for individual weapons.
