24 Hours of LeMans is on....

And it's that time of year! I'll watch the start... pick up again after farm work. Watch until I can't watch any more... and watch the finish any more.

Red wine, baguette, cheese and other Frenchie food for dinner tonite... just to get in the spirit of things!

Damn, I would have loved to see those races in the 1920's when the Bentley's and the Mercedes were hammering each other at Sarthe!

Well, enjoy!!!!

Is the new "custom" dies worth the extra money?

I've been looking at the some of the new dies out there such as the Short Action and Area 419 and wondering if the cost of them is worth it compared to Redding, RCBS, etc. This is for a rifle that shoots 1/2-3/4" moa, will these new dies really improve accuracy? Not wanting this to turn into a bash thread, just curious before I drop hard earned cash

For a 1/2 to 3/4 minute rifle, any dies will do. I've been doing that for 20+ years at this point with the same basic (crappy) RCBS dies that I bought in 2001. It does not take a lot of money to build consistent half-minute ammo... it just takes consistency in how you make it.

That being said, I primarily buy Redding or Forester dies these days... so mid-tier stuff.

Some guys spend tens of thousands refining the arrow, when in fact, the Indian needs more attention. That doesn't mean you can't benefit from better reloading equipment (because you can), it just means that for those with budgets the priority can go elsewhere first.

Awesome suppressor muzzle brake front end attachment by Recoilx

what’s the latest on a nut revision?
I’m just waiting on quotes and getting going on production. This last batch had an increase in diameter and made the knurling more aggressive. The next jam nuts will be even “beefier” and have a spanner flat. The material will change to heat treated 17-4 to handle the extra torque and not get all messed up from wrenching on it.

Range carts

I use a faded putrid-green '90s-vintage jogging stroller with all the extraneous bits removed. The only thing I'll note is that ATV gun brackets don't work for me for carrying a rifle.

Reason: center of gravity is too high for a 15-20 pound rifle - too easy for the whole thing to tip over on uneven terrain.

The majority of matches I shoot are at a venue where a lot of the drives/paths are covered with golfball-to-peach-size riprap. The jogging stroller wheels will traverse the packed-down stones ok, but it's bumpy. The rifle bounces and flips around more than I'll put up with. So, the ATV brackets carry a tripod on one side and a folding chair for my geriatric backside on the other, and the rifle is carried in a soft case laid over the range bag and support bags. For short distances between stages, I carry the rifle in one hand and push the stroller with the other.

For USPSA-style matches, the ATV brackets are fine for lightweight PCCs unless terrain is too bumpy or uneven.

That is the line they are parroting 24/7 whenever they are bombing others so why should it not apply to them ?

Has anyone looked near the Pentagon lately?

Or next to Langley?

Civilian stuff everywhere.

You build bunkers and facilities in the sticks, and next thing it's Cheyenne Mountain with million dollar golf course homes all over it.

So why bother. It's modern warfare. People are gonna get hurt in total war. That's why it's called Total War.

Don't make this out to be some kind of Israeli hide. The whole country is so packed that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting 50 people.
If they wanted to hide under something... they should have built a bunker under the Al Aqsa Mosque.

the chosen people are those whose mothers are chosen people.
in other words, you cannot be jewish unless your mother is jewish...going back to abraham i assume.
that is just what the jewish people i grew up with believed.
this is why the grandmothers always pushed my friends to have jewish girlfriends and to marry a jewish girl.
otherwise, their grandchildren would not technically be jewish.
This is misunderstood. “Chosen People” refers to God choosing them to bring His Word and monotheism to the world, and to banish superstition and magic. It is not that they will receive blessings just cuz. The Old Testament is also many stories of man betraying and disobeying God, getting punished, and returning to faith. In the New Testament it’s all those Jews rejecting the good news, and cleaving to works and the law, which obviously proved inadequate, man being man. Yet, it tells us God is not finished with them even as his punishment for defying his will continues to this very day as does his blessings.
Who are the Canaanites?
It never ceases to amaze me how accurate and temporal the Bible actually is. Worth reading and studying every day, just as one should pray every day even if only to give thanks and stay humble.

Let me get this right. Israel hits Iran. Iran hits back. Nuten Yahoo whines..."You meanies better stop or we'll hit more." paraphrased He started a war, what does he expect? Maybe for us to do his dirty work?

Is the new "custom" dies worth the extra money?

OP I can load some very accurate ammo in my rifle with custom barrels and never spent $300 on a sizing die and another $375 for a seater. Don’t think throwing money at something will make it better. Practice your loading technique and learn if you have any weaknesses and work on them. You don’t need super expensive dies to load good ammo.

How do you all feel about this chamber job?

How typical. OP shows photos of a crappy chamber job and he gets quizzed about “how does it shoot?”
No one answered his question.

OP, that chamber looks like crap. I don’t care how it shoots it’s shoddy.

One issue people tend to ignore is that even if poor workmanship shoots well it might not shoot well for long.
