Firefighters shot responding to wildfire in North Idaho

If I had to guess on a possible motive could be some lunatic mad that his property was allowed to burn at some point by the forest circus. Maybe retribution. Terrible for those firefighters!

I was wondering if it was someone who had been kicked out of the fire department recently. We'll find out soon enough with all the cops there somebody will shoot him or at least see him leaving. He likely drove there so any car parked in the area will have its license plate run.

Have you actually shot a deer sized animal with a 125 NBT out of a 308? Your response leads me to think you have not, but know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who’s uncle, on his mother‘s side, once shot something with a 125 ballistic tip, and it blew up, or that’s the excuse he gave when he didn’t recover the animal.

I have. And got similar results to what Grok says.

And explosive!

That “loon” with the Virgin Mary bolted on his crown Vic is a super nice guy. Owns a trucking company with his two sons as the drivers. Just talked to him earlier this week. Pretty sure he and his type don’t have anything to do with this, but I get your point. There’s a lot of strange stuff going on here. Not just lately- there’s always been strange things happening. Prayers for a quick end to this and lifting up bereaved friends and family.

I just think the bolt-on Virgin Mary is a bit...........................odd.

They just played some radio traffic and the person calling for help said at least four people were down and was asking for an ambulances, it is hours old at this point. Law Enforcement escorted at least two ambulances to the hospital, not a good sign. There are about 3 hours of daylight left.

The Guv'ment model .45 finally got a medal...

My EDC. Pic with the watch is before I switched baseplates on my Wilson mags to Dawson Precision. Much nicer.

The gun has some nice finish wear from years of practice coming from the holster. I've thought about having a friend of mine Ceracoat it, but just can't bring myself to do it. It's earned that wear.

Almost forgot, it has the obligatory idiot scratch, from when I first got it and didn't know what I was doing 🤣

I put those same grips on my son’s 1911. Found a Sig with a really tight slide-to-frame fit, and spent an entire weekend lapping that in until it was like buttah’…. Then replaced some of the MIM parts with WC guts, and it shoots like a dream; awesome for a $1K gun:

Me and my buddy were down the hill at Black Sheep buying reloading crap when this kicked off. Apparently, the scumbags set fire to about an acre and lured them up the hill. This has happened at least three times over the last 30 years in CDA when someone actively sought out law enforcement and ambushed them. It is developing and the area is currently flooded with LEO's.

The area has a ton of Califag nutters that have moved up in the last 10 years or so. The are protesting every damned thing and have every sort of wacky woke sticker on their cars. On the flip side are the far right nutters, including some loon with a Crown Vic with the Virgin Mary bolted to the roof and people of that slant. So this literally could be anything. I'm guessing the Big Beautiful Bill may have set one of them off.

This is a complete goat fuck, the hospital in CDA is packed with fire and police cars and trucks and they are staging all sorts of firepower including two or three MRAPs and several helos to go get a handle on this mess.
So sad, love to stop at Hickman Saddlery in Post Falls.

It’s amazing how little it takes to destabilize even the most powerful, prosperous nation in the history of the world.

Our founding fathers understood a Capitalist Constitutional Republic wasn’t perfect, but was the best way to run a society that we humans have been able to create so far. However, they also understood that it would only work with a moral and just social fabric.

It’s taken those bastards 100+ years of contant pushing and pulling us to the left to rip that social fabric to shreds, while simultaneously knocking out all the pillars of a free society: Education, the nuclear family, assimilation vs. unfettered “immigration” and uncontrolled borders, a lawful judiciary, responsible governance and government spending vs. wholesale welfare to buy votes, etc.

Cloward-Piven just accelerated the demise.

How we let ourselves slide this far continues to amaze me though… and yes I count myself among those at fault for not doing enough to stop or even reverse it. I thought I was doing my part while I was in the military, but maybe not…or at least not looking at the right problem set until it was far too late.

The hardest part for me was coming to grips with the idea that there are people who look at our country and way of life and literally hate it, and would do anything to burn it to the ground. I still can’t understand it, but at least I see it now.

And I can still try to prepare for what’s coming and try to take care of my inner circle. 🫤

22 ARC & 95 SMKs

I’ve shot the 95gr SMKs in my 22 BRA and found they shot amazing at 100 but lacked enough spin to reach their advertised BC. 32.4gr H4350, 2920 fps. Even with a 1:7 and 300,000 RPM the G7 trued at 0.283 compared to the 0.299 Sierra states. And this was with a 0.160” freebore reamer to fit these ultra long bullets. I can shoot 90 SMKs a lot easier and faster with a 0.283 or my preferred Berger 85.5 LRHT. I’m not going to shoot the 95 any more other than for fire forming use (the length makes them easy to jam in the lands.) The 95gr SMKs have too many extremes to overcome to make them worth the trouble.

I think your going to have a hard time with a 22 ARC:
- not enough case capacity to get speed. These have extreme bearing surface and like slow powders.
- going to require a crazy fast twist to get the full BC, 1:6.5 at least and maybe even 1:6 at slow ARC speeds. And I’ve heard they blow up also at high RPM so that’s another negative.

Stick with a projectile better suited for the ARC unless you want a challenge.
