Anyone had shoulder surgery?

Thats great. Ive been practicing using my left hand for those little things like shaving the toughest one, may spring for an electric razor , toothbrush etc. Hadnt thought about wiping my ass, Login to view embedded media

On a positive note I've been doing the exercises from the videos and pain level is down to 10%. Seems a lot of it was from the locked scapula.
I mounted a scrub brush on the shower wall and just back up to it and use it like a bear scratching his back. Clean as a whistle.

Anyone had shoulder surgery?

This would be full replacement, not rotator cuff. Looks like I'm facing it before long. I'm good about this stuff, will do all the PT, so questions.

-How was the pain level?...say compare to a hip which wasnt too bad?

-Recovery time? How long to drive?

-How about impact from recoil? Judging from my hip, if you do your PT, once its all healed you should be able to return. I'll like not go higher caliber than a 300PRC/WinMag
I have had 7 shoulder surgeries on the same side, all on the left shoulder. Bankhart, SLAP lesions 1-4, rotator cuff, allografts, total shoulder arthroplasty, you name it I had it. In February I had a reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.
Each shoulder surgery is different. I can not look at each surgery and say " I hope to get to this point", I look at it as I WILL get to this point. There is no question or thing that will stop me in the recovery process.
For me, I had to set short term and long term goals of what I wanted. I always wanted to get back to work as a Firefighter. That has been my career and I have been honored to work with incredible personnel under my command and I always felt when I was away on injury I was not there to help protect them. Secondly I always wanted to be a dad that wasn't crippled up so much that I couldn't play basketball, street hockey, golf, throw a football, etc, for my young boys. I would NOT allow the surgery or injury define me, I defined it, and where I was going to get. I look through the problem not just at it.
Now, each surgery sucks. They have all been different and I have had to learn how to play golf 7 different times. How to shoot a basketball 7 different times. To throw a football 7 different times. My wife and boys have had to watch me struggle physically/emotionally 7 different times. But it was the goals I set for myself that would help me recover. This help me set my mindset and recovery process.
I shoot pistols, rifles, shotguns (duck hunting). I shoot my AI ASXR 300 WM, and in 308, 6.5CM and even 338LM. I just limit the range day if I am going bigger calibers because I know the pain train is coming, but I do not let it stop me.
I am happy to have offline conversations with anyone who is facing shoulder surgery and happy to speak on my successes and failures.

Here is some of the hardware I have in there. One pic is the 1st total shoulder the other is the reverse total shoulder.

Stay safe
Tack

Any coin collectors?

Every coin store and coin dealer on earth is a complete piece of shit. Whatever value you establish from prices is probably 2 or 3 times higher than what they will offer to buy anything for.

As for anything silver or gold bullion expect to get offer spot values less a specific dollar amount in fees.

If you tell them it's from a dead relative, expect pennies on the dollar. Look up spot gold and silver prices before talking to any of these assholes. Stay away from pawn shops and run from any retard with a "we buy gold/silver " sign.

Last Saturday I watched a pawn shop scumbag offer a woman $300 each for five gold 1oz Eagles because they were "scrap", he did it with a straight face. Luckily she paused and walked out.

When my dad passed I ended up with a coin collection. I had to part with about 75 Morgan's in order to pay for shipping his stuff home. It took several tries to find a decent dealer.

Do your own research and be careful.
Yeah this is kind of my fear.

Any coin collectors?

Best way to sell those 2 you pictured is eBay, and I say that sadly. I attend the Dalton Ga Spring and Fall coin Shows every year, and have never seen those offered on a table, definitely a narrow field. I would go to the PCGS web site and research the serial numbered grading first, perhaps then ask on their chat boards.
I haven’t pictured anything yet. Didn’t even know they had chat boards. That’s helpful. Thanks. I will look into that.

What's the most Tactical Timmy caliber for a 16.5" barreled short action?

Sorry.

Different rifle! 24” barrel.

Same load is same speed (and accurate) in my 26” 6.5 creed with a slightly lower round count.
Just a fast barrel I guess.
Bartleinp I’m

123 Scenars do 2840 with a below Hodgdon book max load of h4350 in the 16,5” though….

That makes more sense...I was like: "powdahound" is right...dude must be stuffin' it in to get that number out of a 16.5" pipe.

2725-2750 with 130 Bergers puts me in a very nice place with my shorty. The wind never stops here and this rig is easier to push than my old 24" 308 slinging 185 Juggernauts at max pressure at 2700.

Send It vs SG Pulse

Received my Pulse, connected it to the SG app, updated the firmware. Mounted the Pulse vertically on a level rifle confirmed through demo mode in the app. Clicked on calibrate and got the Pulse to display solid green indicating calibrated in the app. After ~90 seconds it shuts off and when I power it on again it's like it's never been calibrated; display is red with lights racing around the edge. Battery is at 100%.

I've tried the short-click / long click method of calibration with no joy.

Any ideas on what I'm missing in getting it to successfully calibrate?
The one I received yesterday is doing the same thing. I’ve emailed them but I have not received a response yet.

Range finder accuracy

If you’re not hitting the target then your problem isn’t the 3 yard deviation.

Given the method you describe, I’m assuming you’re not shooting anything important or furry. Just steel? If so, try hanging something reflective like reflective tape on the target stand, or on a flag above it. Or use reflective paint.
Or stand at the target and range your vehicle at the firing line.

It also helps to know what your beam looks like and how it’s oriented and make sure it’s aligned with your reticle. Usually the best way to figure that out is with NV.

Assuming your beam is horizontal, try turning the LRF so the beam is vertical and take readings both ways.

Your beam is going to be a LOT bigger than your MOA target. So you need to make it or something with it the strongest return. If there’s something reflective in the area, knowing where your beam is can help you aim in a way that hits your target but avoids the reflective thing at another distance.

Or if your problem is you’re just not stable enough, then you need a whole different remedy
