The Shot You’ll Never Forget Giveaway - Enter To Win A Barrel From Rifle Barrel Blanks!

Back in the early 80's, I was in my early teens, and I was with my father and his hunting buddies in the mountains. It had been a slow morning for everyone, and we were taking a break before going back to camp to have lunch. One of the guys decides to do some plinking, to ensure his 'sights were on' (because THAT is the time and location to do such....)

Nobody had targets, so one of the guys takes a few coins out of his pocket and stick then in the end-grain of an old stump. (cut at ~45 degrees)

Everybody was aiming for the quarter, and they all took turns. This is only 25-27 yards away. They (the adults) stated 2 rounds only, each. I shot last, and it was still there.

Using my first rifle, just a Cooey Mod 600 bolt action repeater with a tubular magazine and open sights, my first shot (when it was FINALLY my turn) hit the quarter. Due to the stump being macerated, though still with the 45 degree face, the quarter had flipped over and buried itself into the wood.

Everybody commented one-thing-or-another all at the same time, and then came up to the stump as I was using my knife to dig it out. And there in the single-dented and partially cracked quarter, was the actual bullet splashed in.

I still have that quarter and bullet, after all these years.

Firearms LRI Remington 700 in 6.5cm 2000+shipping

Had LRI build this a few years back. Mounted a Zeiss 6-36 on it, did some load development on it, then never shot it again. The barrel's a stainless cut rifled K&P in the standard Remington 700 Varmint contour, and the actions a stainless 700 SA. They blueprinted the action, timed the bolt handle, installed dual ejectors, M16 style extractor, and enlarged the scope base holes to 8-40. The trigger's a single stage Triggertech special set at around 1lbs. It has a steel 20moa base on it along with an Erik Cortina precision bolt shroud. Had the local cerakoter coat the entire gun. I then bought a custom HS Precision stock, and had a reputable smith glass bed it.
While working up a load, I used Alpha brass, federal srp's, Varget and Berger's 140 grain hybrids, it would never shoot over .75" no matter what charge weight went in. The load it liked was 37.3 grains. When I found that, I then moved on to the other guns in my fleet and kind of never came back to it. It has around 250 rnds through the pipe. To shoot this I took it off the wall, put in a hard case, took it to the bench, back in the hard case, and back on the wall and that's how it lived.
Now the possible 'con'; I feel personally, the gun feeds better with the blind magazine box seated tight in the receiver rather than just hangin out, which it does. The smith that bedded it told me this is how they were made, with some play in them. Your mileage may vary. And lastly, when the receiver was being faced to true it up, they took a little more off the receiver than normal, which makes the recoil lug sit about 7 thou further back in the stock than factory, so if you want to switch stocks on this rifle, you'll have to shave a tad off of the rear wall of the receiver pocket to make it fit. Shouldn't be a big deal for someone that screws with guns a lot.

I have 3000 dollars in this rifle. Asking 2000 plus shipping, no trades. (rifle & base only, the scope and rings arent for sale)

Smarter Than You

AI will absolutely replace a lot of white collar, degree required jobs. Pretty much any desk job that consists of one human sending ones and zeros back and forth to another human will be done by AI.

Most college degrees that open doors to white collar jobs will be even more useless.

AI shouldn't have much effect on the hands on trades. Still gotta have plumbers, electricians, mechanics, machinists, welders, etc to make the world go round.

The Rainbow for thousands of years has literally represented God's promise never to destroy the world again by flood. That this is the symbol and flag of pride in sin is just about the ultimate slap in the face to every Jew and Christian on planet earth..., but that's the point, isn't it?

Here is the eeason they use God's Bow.

2 Peter ch 2

1

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

yep....bicycles and sandals worked quite well once
yes they did. it seems to me that besides economics the attitude of the controlling gov and/or of the population's attitude towards casualties is a major factor in who wins. AFG and VN are examples,i think.
also, #s have it's own quality. Pzkw 5 & 6 vs t34. t34 was faster and cheaper to produce and was good enough. not sure but i think Panther and Tiger knocked them out at about 10-1. 1-1 superior, much better crews, didn't matter in the end.
viet death #s are all over but you read about 1-1.5 mil with about 1/2 mil PAVN/cong combat deaths. ours were 58K over 10 years. we lost and the civilian reaction to the war almost destroyed our society with a bunch of other issues at the time.

Advice Ideas on a guitar build

Birch plywood (many layers of thin 'semi-hardwood' cross-grained veneers) covered in a Poplar veneer (if that's the face-grain you're wanting) might be better and more structurally sound.

(see what I did there?)

Also, it being more 'solid' might help with the vibrations created, too. I'm sure others will chime in here.

Optics Delta Javelin 4.5-30x56 FFP riflescope with SMR-1 reticle

Delta Javelin 4.5-30x56 FFP Optically and mechanically it is in excellent shape. If you try hard, you can kinda see where it was clamped into the Area 419 mount.
In terms of performance, it is somewhat similar to Ares ETR in terms of optical and mechanical performance, maybe a hair better, but that could be due to sample variation. The turrets are a bit taller and easy to grasp and to read. The reticle is different. This one has SMR-1 reticle, which stands for Scandinavian Match Reticle.
I am just selling the scope, not the mount. It does come with the metal flip-up caps.

$800 shipped within CONUS.
