I saw an update today. The bond was suggested but earlier today was not yet set because they are waiting to see if the State Dept is going to immediately deport them back to Venezuela.
According to some witnesses, she was zipping close to shore when she hit the kayaker. A passenger she had fell off and remained there.
She goes on and gets in a truck with a friend (the guy in the mug shot) and they get into another hit and run accident driving away from there. Then there was a stand-off at the house where she has been living.
It's easy to say that this would not have happened if Gonzalez was not here illegally. But it could have easily been Billy Bob or Betty Sue with one beer too many and singing "Freebird" while jetting around.
The salient fact is that they are here illegally. If they were not here that young soldier would still be alive, and you can't talk your way around that, because some drunk redneck could have done that same thing, because they didn't. The illegal aliens did. They are guilty of negligent homicide, manslaughter, whatever, but the damage is done, and it shouldn't have been, and we have to stop this by getting them all OUT!
If they self deport they are basically given amnesty, a clean slate, for their previous crimes and can apply for a visa/citizenship like anyone else. That is far more generous than they deserve. I'm sure the family of the deceased wouldn't agree with me, but I say remove them to Venezuela rather than pay to feed and house them for years in the penitentiary.
