Bullet stabilization issues? .300 Norma Mag

Yes, but all the stability calculators I tried give a result saying it should be fine (stable) given the muzzle velocity I'll have. Maybe Sierra mentions the 1:8 twist rate for other calibers with lower muzzle velocities which would not be enough to stabilize the bullet.

I just hope it will work, if not, I'll go for 220s if I can find some.

Weight of Zermatt Origin scope rail

I ended up running the Hawkins Long Range Hybrid rings at 3oz and some change. And the Leupold VX5 3-15x44 at 19oz.

My rifle totals out to 8.8# with the suppressor (Silencerco Scythe Ti)

I had it down lighter but I found I needed the extra magnification and turrets of the VX5 for the type of hunting I was doing. It’s been a sweet setup with some long kills under its belt and has traveled tons of miles on my back.

Absolutely would buy the Hawkins rings again, they are a bit annoying to set up perfect with the bubble level on the top of the rings. But once you’ve got it all set up it’s a feature that I really like.

Hope this helps.

It does thanks!

Berry tumbler question and fine grit stuck in flash hole

Porkan is very deserving of puerile jabs. One need not meet him, as his reputation precedes him.

I just bought a 25# bag of white rice from costco. My wife is still making her way through it, after my first trial run ended with terrible impactions. Of course, I threw out the sample from my trial run, I didn't put it back in the bag!
Again Orken maybe an asshole of the first order, and deserving of your sophomoric jabs, but the fact remains you used the wrong rice. Nishiki Rice is a larger grain rice and won't get stuck in your flash holes or cause impactions.

Leveling a scope is dumb

I shoot 1000 yards regularly with a 6.5 man bun
Have also shot 1 mile and successfully hit targets

How far out do I have to shoot before I realize my reticle isn't level?

I have setup my scopes with the wheeler system
Mmmkay. But this being the internet and all, that validates jack shit.

are you a place holder in PRS? Are you in Ko2m? Something? No? I have to assume you lob rounds at a target, giggle about it and go home. That doesn’t not set the accuracy standard.

And it doesn’t change the fact that the scope cap is not always square with the reticle when giving general advice.

Berry tumbler question and fine grit stuck in flash hole

I don't know what kind of Rice you used, because it does make a difference. I get no rice of the kind I listed stuck in the flash holes on both 5.56mm or 6.5 Creedmoor cases, which is all I use nowadays.

Since you use a disparaging name for Orken I can only assume you have a personal animus against the man. A man who, BTW I've never met, and I've never bought any product from. The rice method works, without dust, and without any rice being stuck in flash holes.

IMHO and YMMV
