I bought a Dead Air nomad TI XC to put on a new Seekins Precision Havak in 6.8 Western. Before getting through a box of ammo, the bolt lift on an expected round became impossibly heavy. I went back-and-forth with Seekins on this, including sending the rifle back to them twice. One thing that was noticed, was a heavy carbon ring inside the chamber. But I was hesitant to believe that this brand new suppressor was the problem, but ultimately stuck my AB Raptor find the rifle and the problem disappeared.

Then today, I mounted the Dead Air on my Tikka TX3 in .308 Winchester and the exact same problem occurred, even though the 308 obviously has far less pressure. I have shot the Tikka they ton, always suppressed, and used the same ammo today that I've always used.

I can't come up with any other explanation than it is the fault of the suppressor. Somehow it must be causing too much back pressure and pushing back into the chamber.

Does anyone else have any other thoughts on what it could be and why?
I spoke with Dead Air today and their initial response was that this was not something they are seeing.

I finally have a bit of extra cash and I've collected about 1000 rounds of 6.5 brass. I have never reloaded before but I've been reading here and watching enough you tube videos to be dangerous to myself and others.

I would like to reload for accuracy, for my bolt gun in 6.5 and maybe later for my AR's (223). I spent enough at Target sports last year to save $1800 with their ammo+ member ship. It's not sustainable. I'm not sure the time / value trade off exists for reloading 9mm, but maybe later.

I was hoping you guys could school me on what the major tools I have to buy are so I can start watching the for sale forum and scrolling Brownells.

- I already have an ultrasonic cleaner (I use it for my bcg parts and wife's jewelry - don't tell her)

- I have a .00 digital scale, but am open to investing in something better.

What kind of press should I be looking at? I'm open to a buy once cry once situation and anything that makes it easier for a newb to work. Again primarily 6.5 specifically for my bolt gun.

What kind of dies?

Is there a particular package of tools? Or will I be piecing together?

I'm going to start ordering books/ manuals as well.

My setup for now is in the corner of my office but we are currently looking to move from the 1k sq/ft condo to a real house and I'm already designing my gun room benches.

Just picked up an AXSR that came with a factory 20” 1/8 twist barrel. Typically shoot 6GT and 6.5 Creedmoor to include in a PSR setting, but want to switch things up.

Going with factory ammo at this point and am leaning toward Berger. I’d like to get out to a mile at minimum for now, with longer distances in the future I hope. I’d appreciate recommendations.

Selling my used Dead Air KeyMo Saker Mount and 30 Caliber Flash Hider. I am using direct now that I am into PRS shooting. The mount was my only one, so it has seen over 500 rounds through it.
