Muzzle velocity is mainly a function of the ammunition and barrel length (time under pressure). It seems reasonable to expect minor speed differences between manufacturers (all else being equal), but I wouldn't expect substantial differences. That being said, I have seen posts that suggest otherwise. Here it is.

I'm trying to build a light weight, short, suppressed back country hunting rifle chambered in 6.5 PRC. I was looking at the Tikka T3x with 24" barrel, but found myself attracted to a shorter 20" barrel made by Seekins precision in their new Element Hunter. When I considered how much speed it would cost me for the shorter barrel by Seekins I looked up speeds on other outside forums that guys had posted. The results are below.
I was surprised to see that the shortest barreled 6.5PRC (by Seekins) had the highest muzzle velocity. If we assume those posted numbers to be true, the only explanation I can think of is that maybe Seekins has tighter manufacturing tolerances.

Is it even reasonable to think that might have such a great effect as to completely offset a decrease of barrel length by 4"?

Just sent a message to AMP to see but thought I might as well try on here too. I recently got an AMP mate from a buddy and hooked it up to my mark 1 AMP. In the tutorial videos it shows the annealer recognizes the mate when plugged in, but my mark 1 annealer doesn’t recognize the mate when I plug it in.

Anyone know the fix to this?

I've really been thinking about getting a seekins hit pro. Maybe not right away but sometime down the road. It's in the $2k range and I know I'm nearing custom money territory. I've never thought about getting a custom or felt curious/attracted about going that route. I'm just not interested in that but for some reason I'm drawn to the seekins.

Would an MPA for example offer a lot more than a seekins would? Again, I'm inclined to the seekins but if I'm leaving a lot on the table by not going custom I will definitely consider it. Has anybody owned a seekins and a custom simultaneously to be able to offer any input?

Just had a question after using a Bore Scope today. Normally i don’t use these often, but having a weird gas issue with another rifle so wanted to check my new 16.5” Proof 6.5cm custom bolt build. Approx 65 rounds fired and did a barrel break in as well and want to make sure i didn’t do this or if its just weird machine marks. Barrel shot good and accurate no issues. Anyways the first 1/4 of the barrel looks rough but last half looks perfect. Anyway here are some pictures and it was also build by Altus which i know they do good work and never had an issue just wanted to see what’s normal. I believe last picture is where it looks good which is about half way until the end of barrel.
