CVA Cascade 6.5 PRC w/ 156 Berger Elite Hunter hand loads

Finally put a 4 round group through the CVA Cascade and got a picture of the group. Why not 5 round?... we all know why lol)
CVA Cascade 6.5 PRC 24" barrel
Leupold Gen.2 VX-5HD 3-15x illuminated firedot
Hornady Brass
Winchester WLR primers
57.1gn Vihtavuori N560
156gn Berger Elite Hunter
BTO=2.263"
2901 fps avg.

Failed to bring the target home before trashing it so all I have is a relative measurement for the group size.

Going into this I know I needed to re-zero because I just put this scope on this particular rifle. Use to have the Mark 4 Hd 4.5-18 on top with illuminated reticle but it felt too busy for hunting and didn't have the low end I wanted

first group(very bottom): center POA, dialed up 6 clicks after, slipped zero with tool less speed set dial
second group(next group up): center POA, dialed down 1, slipped zero again with tool less speed set dial
windage confirmation before adjust shot: aiming top center of larger white diamond, dialed back up one click and slipped zero again. dialed 6 clicks right (double what I thought necessary, I like to "unload" erector system for my final adjustment (read as: make last correction leftward rather than load the system by making last correction rightward)
Windage correction shot: aiming top center o large white diamond, confirmed only need 3 clicks to adjust. adjusted 3 clicks and slipped tool less dial to zero

1 shot left in magazine aiming dead center on top 1" diameter target :)
load 3 more rounds, fire directly into same 1" target :)
decide to not take that 5th shot, because... well, you know :D

The other 3 shot group is from a while back with the same load that did have a direct measurement taken but failed to get a picture of the group...
So far I have roughly 350 rounds through this gun, proper break in and upped my cleaning regiment to follow some of the best competition shooters advice

All in all, wanted to firmly position myself on learning how to reload for your barrel > buying expensive rifles and hoping factory ammo shoots well through it.
I have tons of buddies at work who purchase very expensive custom guns that can't get them to shoot well nearly in 4 times the amount of time put in and twice as much money on factory loads as I spend in "quality budget" class division and tune my loads for the rifle.

When anyone asks me what rifle they should buy I will highly suggest a sub $1000 gun and for them to reload before they go spending big money on the tac drivers. Barrels these days seem pretty few and far between to have major issue with grouping if the fundamentals are there to back it. Can't speak for all budget class rifles, but the CVA Cascade came recommended for dumb accurate at a $650 price point and I don't think that was hog wash at all.

What's your thoughts??

Accessories Ruger Precision 223 Rem Bartlein Prefit

Going through stuff that I didn't remember I had.

I had a Ruger Precision 223 rifle a number of years ago. This is a barrel I purchased off the Hide about the same time. I don't remember the person who did the chambering, but it is a Bartlein 1:7.7 twist, 26" Ruger Precision prefit. Threaded 1/2-28.

It was used when I got it, around 200 rounds according to previous owner. I put another 200 rounds down it. No handloads, just factory ammo. CBC Magtech 77gr clone MK262 loads that shot really really well. Easy half moa shooter with the CBC. I also shot Winchester Supreme Elite 50gr https://www.targetsportsusa.com/win...n-ballistic-silver-tip-ammunition-p-3177.aspx that with the lot I had stacked bullets.
$400 shipped.

Harris bipod adapter?

I have a Harris S-LM bipod with the classic stud mounting clamp and a pod loc, attached to my Tikka Tac A1 using a Magpul MLOK stud.

A lot of people recommend to get an adapter such as Really Right Stuff’s, to remove the standard stud mounting plate from the bipod and replace it with an adapter that interfaces directly to Picatinny/MLOK/ARCA. Depending on what your rifle has.

I really wonder what the benefit is? My setup appears solid. I never have to re-tighten the stud mounting bolt, and if I would replace it, I’d lose the benefit of those two leaf springs.

Conservative Actor James Woods Leaves Internet Users in Laughter as He Performs a Creative Heel Turn to Fry Jimmy Kimmel Over His Misfortune.

james-woods-1200x630.jpg

The reactions to Jimmy Kimmel’s demise at ABC News are still coming in, and one of America’s most famous conservative actors has perhaps posted the most epic tweet on the situation so far.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the left-wing Kimmel told his late-night audience on Monday that a MAGA REPUBLICAN murdered Kirk and accused the right of trying to score political points off of it.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel claimed.

Nexstar later announced that all 32 of its ABC broadcast affiliates would preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” indefinitely, blasting Kimmel’s sick comments about Kirk’s murder as “offensive and insensitive.”

Disney also pulled Kimmel’s show.

“Disney is pulling ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ “indefinitely, the company confirmed to Fox News Digital, Fox reported.

Conservative actor James Woods decided to share his thoughts on Thursday on X. At first, it looked like he would shock everybody with his take on Kimmel’s misfortune.

Woods wrote, ” We’ve all made jokes at Jimmy Kimmel’s expense.” But Mr. Kimmel is a fellow artist, and I am heartbroken to see how he has been treated.”

“I believe he is, in his heart of hearts, a good and decent fellow, devoid of malice and hate,” he continued.

Then, Woods performed a sudden heel turn, revealing how he felt about Kimmel getting sacked.

“Just kidding, Jimbo,” he quipped. “Eat sh*t.”

We’ve all made jokes at Jimmy Kimmel’s expense. But Mr. Kimmel is a fellow artist, and I am in fact heartbroken to see the way he has been treated. I believe he is, in his heart of hearts, a good and decent fellow, devoid of malice and hate.
Just kidding, Jimbo. Eat shit.

Woods’s post had the Internet in stitches, though many of his fans initially thought he had been hacked.
