Dillon RL1100 vs Mark 7 Apex 10…for brass processing…

I have a Dillon RL550B, Dillon RL650 (with Mr. Bulletfeeder), and a Short Action Customs Nexus (and little Lee classic cast for little odds and ends). Love them all. None of them are going anywhere. Will continue to do bulk reloading on the 650, rifle and pistol.

At this point it’s going to be a machine to process 223 and 300 blackout brass on. I don’t want a CP2000 because it’s not that much less and is limiting. I want something that should I choose to down the road I can load on.

Even though I’m completely out of room at this point, I’m looking at 5 gallon buckets of brass that need to be processed and the though of processing thousands of pieces of brass on my Dillon Super Swager is making me a sad panda. I need a press with on press swaging…

I have no intention of automation, but, we’ve all been around long enough to know how that goes.

I haven’t used either.

I live 2 miles from Dillon.

Read as much as I can. Understand the differences, pros, and cons. As with most things, seems they both have pros and cons.

They are similarly priced.

Just asking to see if those that have used either or both have any compelling reasons to steer me in one direction or the other?

Should I just get the Mark 7 Apex 10 and future proof myself?

Thank you

Optics WTT iRay Micro RH-25 V2 Thermal for nice glass

iRay Micro RH 25 V2, like new with extra dovetail mount for running it clipped on. Unit is like new/ has 2 hours tops on it. I took it outside once to check stuff out after I bought it, and it's sat in the safe since then. It comes with everything as new. I'm into this for $5200.

I'm open to selling, but I just picked up a Barrett MRAD and I'm would prefer to trade the thermal for some high end glass; Ideally ZCO ZC527 or NF ATACR 7-35-56 (MIL XT Reticle), but I may be open to others. Please let me know what you have and lets see if we can work something out. I've got plenty of selling references on other forums/ online. Can FT or whatever. Located in Placer County, California.

Thanks,

Chris

New to me SSA M40 rifle

I just received the SSA yesterday. It looks pretty good except the front swivel and the scope mount. The bolt face doesn’t look so bad in person.
The trigger pull feels pretty light. I don’t have a way to measure it. About what ballpark does it gauge to?
This is my first bolt gun in a long time. I just had back surgery Sept 2nd so I have to wait a little while longer before I can shoot it.

Am I lookin at this correctly?

Been shooting the B14R heavy and just finally got around to measuring headspace.
Made up a simple tool to measure rim thickness. It’s just a piece of round aluminum stock with a .228” hole. It fits perfectly in the Stoney Point adapter.
wbhBtV.jpg

After installing on my caliper and zeroing I used a fired case to produce the measurement shown. Am I correct in thinking this is showing a .046 headspace?

Here is a unfired SKRM.
uBB7nH.jpg

That would indicate .004 “slop” in the headspace, correct?
I see quite a few reference .043 as a good headspace measurement so if I shim the bolt .003 it should put me in a sweet spot.

Does anyone have a CMMG 9mm PCC with fixed ejector?

I put together a 9mm PCC using a CMMG RDB bolt/Carrier and barrel. I ultimately decided to upgrade the upper and bolt to the fixed ejector. I noticed that on the older bcg with the plunger ejector, the bolt is spring loaded in the carrier. The bolt is forced into its extended position by a spring, when the bolt isnt in battery.. On the new bcg that came with the fixed ejector upper, there is no spring forcing the bolt into its extended position. Is this a change that CMMG made or am I missing a spring?
