Am looking at A new budget short action and like the looks of the Origin action. What is the quality of these? Will I need to have a bunch of work done to it before I have a barrel put on it to be a shooter? Planning on using a Proof CF in 7mm SAW

I just bought and cerakoted a new MDT LSS XL chassis and am considering the MDT wood grip. The action is Howa 6.5 C.
I've really grown to like the vertical grip on the old Howa APC chassis. The MDT grip is canted more like the AR style but not so much.
The wood grip would compliment the paint job so... just thinking about it.
Does anyone have an opinion either way ?

I've got a brand new 13.75" example of the premium SOLGW L89 rail for AR15. 7075 aluminum. Upgraded from the M89 with 7 side mlok, Steel QD sockets and a Titanium Barrel nut.
Still features the best in class wedgelock attachment method with 3 separate wedges locking it to the barrel nut and the silky smooth anodizing of all SOLGW's stuff.
Has a couple tiny flaws, one corner of the front end is slightly flattened and there are two tiny dents in the pic rail(shown in pics). Barely worth mentioning, but on such a premium product wanted to call them out

The rifle is a Kimber 84 Advanced Tactical II in 308 which will be more than enough for the job. Paid about $1200 USD for the rifle after shipping. The optic and just a cheap ATN X-Sight PRO 5-20. I've actually had good luck with them in the past (with the Gen One, 3-15x). This one is a little better and includes a ballistic calculator and a range finder built in. I only paid $488 USD for it after shipping so it keeps the cost down on something with a little night vision.

I have a GA precision crusader with 3 barrels (.260, 6.5 creedmoor and 6.5 SAUM)and 2 bolts (mag and standard). It is a Templar action. McMillan A5 stock (GAP camo) with added adjustable cheek piece with KMW hardware. The rifle is used, (1500 rounds on the .260, 550 on the saum, 500 on the creedmoor) but is an absolute tack driver. I would like to trade for quality handguns. I prefer cajunized CZ’s, but will consider other metal framed and hammer fired options. These can be well used, or new or anywhere in between. I’m in no hurry and have no desire to sell. If I can’t find a suitable trade, I’ll just keep it. If you are interested, shoot me a PM and we can discuss details.

Hey guys, I have a 16" AR that l want to setup to run my new suppressor. Currently l have a long SLR keymod handguard on it with a mostly recessed linear comp. I want to put a taper mount on it but the can is too big to recess on the handguard. Basically the handguard is just a touch too long if you see what l mean.

The easy fix would be a new handguard but my lovely state now has banned it all.

I could cut back the handguard but I'm trying to avoid it because there is no clean way to do this one without a bunch of jagged edges because it has so many holes everywhere.

So... Does anyone have experience with a barrel extender like this:https://www.infiniteproductsolutions.com/barrel-extensions/

It's obviously not ideal to stack tolerances but l don't see why it would be a problem in this application. I'm (ass)uming they are bored larger than the caliber and not rifled which gives a bit of clearance. I only need 1 inch and l could rokset it in place and get a taper mount on it. My can is 9mm or 35 cal on a .223 cal bore. In my eyes this gives a lots of fudge factor for potential misalignment. I still don't think their should be much of any though but that seems like a good size buffer to make you feel better.

Do you guys think this could be a decent plan?

As title states, where are you buying calipers? I can go to Amazon and buy something & get it delivered the next day. However, with precision instruments, I would think buying straight from the manufacturer is best in order to avoid fakes.

I went to mitutoyo website and it seems like you can't buy straight from them. Is there a place you guys recommend I buy some of these?
