Geissele Heavy Barrels. (Update 28OCT24)

Has anyone had any time behind these new heavy profile Geissele barrel??

I just picked one up from Primary Arms with thier Halloween sale. They look to be the same profile as the barrels I custom order. Only thing I would have done differently is 5/8x24 threads and a intermediate gas length.

When you are a leftist commie Democrat Satanist of Color... and The WAPO won't endorse you...

You must really suck!!!!

Oh wait... we are talking about Cackle Snatch here.

She DOES suck!

And apparently has the IQ of a fencepost! According to Mel Gibson ;-)

It's not a 'great' October surprise. I'm still hoping for a better one. Like Tim Walz being discovered at the Budweiser Breweries blowing Clydesdales. With Paul Pelosi.

But the sheep stupid enough to have their Harris/Walz signs in their yard because they were told and have TDS... well, they'll still vote for them. Numerous times. Along with their illegal maids and gardners.

Does ANYONE own a Pard Thermal Scope of ANY kind ?

I apologize in advance for the ALL caps in the title, but I'm losing my mind trying to get any substantive information about Pard thermals.

I am trying to find any North American human that owns/owned one and hopefully has owned other brands like Agm to give me any kind of insight.

The only thing I've been able to find is big name retailers, like Bass Pro Shops carrying them.. but... with no customer reviews so they're obviously not selling... and I have seen a few videos from European Youtubers who are probably being sponsored and they do not compare them to any other brand.

If I do an apples to apples comparison on the main and important specs, they are about 20% +/- less expensive than their competition but not so cheap like an Amazon knock offs. They obviously must be a (decent) company to get picked up by companies like bass pro and sportsman's warehouse etc.

There has been many instances in the past when a newer company to the US has trouble capturing market share due to ineffective advertising campaigns, but that later on turn out to be very successful and popular products, which is why I'm curious, hesitant but also not wanting to completely rule them out.

( ANY ) input from anyone that owns or owned one would be greatly appreciated.

Side note: I know they are made in china and that's ok as the components to every other company is also made there. China can manufacture some good quality stuff sometimes. Other than that, I don't know how they fit the same specs into a thermal and remain 20% or more, less expensive than others.

Recap of the URSA NorCal October '24 event

Oct 23, 2024 - Recap of the URSA NorCal October '24 event (by RD, Lynn Dragoman; build info and notes from Oscar)

Shooters, we had 9 guns on the line Sunday morning to engage steel at 2147 yards for our first match. Some tricky winds and some shadowing made for a tough match.

RickyRacer87 got 5 hits with his 33XC to qualify for the match. Not to be outdone, Shaun Brady got 6 hits with his 300 Lapua, and Amanda got 4 hits with her 338 Lapua Ackley Improved.

During the match RickyRacer87 (Doug) and Shaun both got 4 more hits and Amanda, showing she should put on a shooting clinic, got 6 hits, scoring her third achievement point.

We moved out to 2600 yards and RickyRacer87 came out victorious with Amanda finishing one shot behind him for Runner-Up!!! Congratulations, Doug and Amanda on the good shooting and also on your recent engagement!!!!

We had time, and we had shooters, so we held a second match with a little less wind and a lot more sunshine. RickyRacer87, new shooter Steve with a Curtis Helton 375 CheyTac, and myself all qualified for the match and, once again, RickyRacer87, with his 33XC took home the win. New shooter Steve took home Runner-Up and he did it with only 7 shots!!! I think at the next match he'll bring more ammo.

After the match we shot out to 3311 yards and did some much-needed maintenance.

Congrats to Doug (RickyRacer87) on your 2 wins and also to Doug, Shaun, and Amanda who all qualified for the annual 3K Match to be held next April.

Match Winner (twice), Doug (RickyRacer87), was shooting 299 gr. (David Tubb) DTAC's (with nose ring) out of his Billy Goat Machine-built 33XC with BGM Ovis (Defiance Deviant Tactical) action, 32" Bartlein barrel, Manners T-5A stock, and Nightforce 7-35x56 ATACR scope on ERATAC 0-70 MOA base and rings.

Match 2 Runner-Up, Steve, was shooting 400 gr Cutting Edge Lazers out of his Curtis Helton-built 375 CheyTac with Stiller TAC 408 (TAC DRIVER) 1.600 action, 36" K&P barrel, Cadex Dual-Strike chassis, and Nightforce 7-35x56 ATACR scope on a 30 MOA base with Nightforce rings.

Mead industries

I know this isn't exactly a reloading question, but when I considered going back to 6xc and looking if there were factory ammo offerings anymore, I came across Mead industries. I have since opted for a dasher and eagle eye ammo for when I dont have time to reload. Does anyone have any experience with their ammo on their others offerings like 556 or 6.5 creed?
