I know that this goes along with turn off lights and don't run the a/c. How are the commies going to increase power production to overcome this influx of electric vehicles? Is the answer more wind and solar? Maybe the plan is these bastards are jumping ship and moving out so that means less consumption.

Socialist agenda push electric cars on to the people and then tell them not to charge them to save electricity. I guess they will have to stay home from work and collect government assistance.

Those evil carbon fuels that are so reliable ........

Its amazing the path we took from closing mental institutions and transferring the patients into over government.

I saw that also. They actually added 4 to the list, the total is 17.

"BUY ELECTRIC CARS OR YOURE KILLING THE ENVIRONMENT!!!"

"YOU NEED TO USE SOLAR OR WIND POWER GENERATION BECAUSE COAL KILLS THE ENVIRONMENT!!!"

"oh shit.....ummm....guys....can you stop charging your cars and shit.....the crappy solar panels we installed cant keep up"

enjoy the CA summer without AC and without being able to drive, fuckers

i have nothing against solar or wind.....as a supplement...but to depend on it almost entirely is fucking stupid, the technology just cant keep up

They also banned travel to Florida because of so-called LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ discrimination.
Too bad it's only state funded travel...☹

Is there a bomb big enough to just knock CA off the continent? Solve half our problems right there. Just give me a days notice so I can get out

CA also charges higher electric prices during the day... and didn't somebody post you can't install your own house batteries?

California is having power issues due to an overdose of "green" stupidity. Unfortunately, this is going to only get worse as the state doubles down on wind and solar while continuing to get rid of other more reliable sources of power (nuclear, hydroelectric, etc.).

by design maybe?

1) push electric cars and transportation
2) push car makers to stop making ICE cars/trucks
3) once everyone needs electricity to travel, have government hand ALWAYS on electric juice flow switch
4) threaten to shutoff electricity unless populace comes into compliance with government edicts
5) government can and will restrict movement of people so they are less free than ever before.
6) communism.

Why I'll never own an electric car.

I'll keep my diesel.

Doc

They have yet to prove to me that an electric car can out-perform a fuel based car - especially when it comes to passing/overtaking where you need that power boost. How much electricity would that take, and would you have to go imediately to the charging station after that? No thanks.

... Really? Have they never been to Miami?
No kidding especially the Keys. May as well call it gayville. But no woke freaks, just people out having fun.

Yes, Yes, and they charge you more the more you use. Why would the utilities want to let some of the monopoly go!

Few more years and there going to loose 2400MWE of Atom smasher off the grid also.
It's only June. It ain't got hot yet. Wait till August and September. The shit is going to hit the wind generator.

Is that green black smoke really bad ?

Of course there is, same concept as the Armageddon movie.
Strategically drill allong the fault lines and place charges to slide that turd into the ocean 🤣🤣🤣
Just make sure we let mexico know they can have it back before detonation so we can divert all the illegal scum there and send them to Davie Jones.

Then you haven’t been paying attention. Tesla’s are some of the fastest cars off the line that you can buy. Instant torque. No such thing as a torque “curve” with them. It’s a horizontal line.

I’ve read that just making the lithium battery for a Tesla is equivalent to driving a gas car for roughly 1 1/2 years in carbon/emissions output.

so what emissions does it use to charge the thing with a coal power plant every day?

Does it really do anything besides make green tree huggers feel good?

Still not convinced. And how much is that Tesla selling for, these days? Would I have to take out a 2nd mortgage for it? When they get the price down to a similar level as the equivalent fuel based car (ie. mid $40's), I'll take another look.

The $35k Model 3 will snap your head back when you hit "the gas"

What would sell is a car with a anaerobic digestion engine, all the fuel you need is right in your ass.

So before a long trip you'd eat a lot, a hit of ex lax, then shove a hose from your asshole to the fuel tank?

Years ago they put up about 10 or so wind turbines....with plenty of opposition to boot, at rhe eastern end of Lake Erie.. The majority of the time they are completely still. Sometimes one or two but rarely do I see them all going. Solution to this? They're putting up more.

If tree huggers knew the life expectancy, the oil and grease needed to keep running, and how unrecyclable wind turbines are lol. Things are useless fucking waste of energy to simply make and install.
Solar is just as shit. No tree hugger looks at the full picture. They just see the middle result and put blinders on for construction and deconstruction.
Give me hydro, nuclear, gas, and coal.

Same with all commies / emotional thinkers.

“as long as the intentions were good”.

look what that did with the war on poverty etc. They f up everything they touch

actually, that is the only reason i would get an electric car or bike. instant power.
new tesla is 0-60 in 1.9 seconds.

OK... When we're at a point when it can do that several times and still not need a charge, I'll get more interested.

Hilarious. If only there was some way for the kalifornia gov to get over their hubris and let the truly innovative companies sort energy production and electric vehicles out. Alas, it won’t be during my lifetime, I’m sure

It doesn’t do 0-60 in 1.9 It’s been tested to be more in the 2.2-2.3 range. Tesla pulled some bullshit. It supposedly was already rolling at 6 mph. I’ll try to find the video that talks about it.

2.3 is still impressive but like all of Elon’s stuff there is a little stretch in the truth.

Wonder where all the batteries will go once they are at the end of the charge/discharge cycles....
Viet Nam and other poor countries where they'll be disassembled and recycled at great cost to the environment.

I like the hellcat vs tesla videos. Tesla's run damn good.

probably not so easy to find a non-biased study comparing lifecycle environmental impact of gas powered versus electric vehicles...🤔🤔

And maybe break that down further by vehicle type, primary usage etc..

Not an advocate for electric cars but you don’t want them literally for all the reasons that they are actually good at 😂

oh the ignorance

Actually, it's "the experience." Electric cars are just too new. As a veteran IT person, I've learned that it's often not the best thing to be on the "bleeding edge" of technology. Most of the firms I worked on never jumped immediately to the most recent version of "Windows" for example, but would wait until it stabilized and the bugs got worked out. Often that meant there were 1-2 major versions behind the latest release. But at least the work environment was stable.

While some Electric cars may do the things mentioned here that I seek, I want to wait and ensure myself that they're done consistently over time, before I commit to it. I'm not saying I'll never commit to one, but it may take some time and some history.
