Got my RRS BAT-AT2(updated) plate today and figured to post some pics in case someone needs them.

Compared to BAI-AT
You can move the bipod closer to cg with BAI-AT but obviously with BAI-AT2 you can slide the bipod all the way forward. Also u cant really use the RRS barricade stop with BAI-AT2

Idk if I got an out of spec rail or if this is normal but the gap looks a little odd.

I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with BAI-AT or go with AT2 but for $85 i think it's worth a shot.

Yes the gap is on purpose. Aesthetically we couldn’t get away from it. If you go to remove it pay attention when sliding it backwards in order to remove you will see it will match up perfectly. Due to the AI keyslot spec you have to install it and then slide it forward. If we would have cut it straight off it would have limited the amount of rear travel. If you open the clamp 90 degrees you can see you can still slide back further rear ward and only have half the clamp on the plate and the other half carried against the chassis with some of our clamps. You only loose about 1/2” further from cg using this method over the first gen BAI-AT. We just wanted to make it longer and able for multiple positions and still use spigot if needed. With the addition of the CA-R 50 picatinny section you can add picatinny to a few spots on the rail if you want it. Tried to make it useful as possible.

Are you discontinuing the first gen AT plate? I much prefer the old design over this because it doubles as a barricade stop.

I did notice that I could move it a further rearwards until the rail touches the chassis but wasnt sure if its a good idea to have only half of the clamp grabbing the chassis.

How about a hybrid of the two?

The gen 1 design that runs the length of the forearm and also allows the spigot to be used?

I like the way the gen 1 basically eliminates the shelf near the magwell and also the finger grooves it’s has.

Would it be possible to extend the gen 1 design to take up all of the forearm/key slots?

Or maybe one that gradually gets a little thinner towards the muzzle and takes up the entire forearm?
 
Just putting this here for future reference if someone searches this thread.

I put two gen 1 arca plates on my AI. Thus far I’m liking it.

They come off/on in seconds, so on small port hole stages you can drop one or both before the stage and put them back on after.

They were made specifically for the AT rifle and chassis. I’m fairly sure they do not fit yours. Send me a picture of the bottom and I will let you know and make sure we aren’t crossing wires
 
I have a AICS Chassis too and was wondering if the RRS base BAI-AT2 or the original could be made to work with it? I am pretty handy in the DIY smith.. but it would really depend on the clearances of the skins and what I could tie into the alum frame at that location on that chassis
 
I’m seeing this is an old thread but hopefully someone will see this. I bought the BAI AT2 plate but i don’t think it will work with my AICS AT chassis. I don’t have the keyslot rail on the bottom of mine but I have the single long slot in the bottom. Is my only option an AFAR kit?
 
yup. that's AICS legacy. The BAI-ATs wont work with that chassis. but the sawtooth and HRD legacy versions will
 
Sorry to necro this thread but now I find myself in the position of needing an Arca rail for my 2014 AI-AT. Apparently the BAI-AT2 isn’t made anymore.
 
We decided to stop making it specifically for the AT. If you want a BAI-AT2 plate, I think Mile High has a handful remaining. From us for the next year at least, if you want a rail for your AT, itll be the USR: select your length, KeySlot hardware
