After scouring the forums and still being left with some questions, I was hoping the braintrust might help me find an appropriate lightweight, compact-ish tripod legs for rucking PRS events like Mammoth, Vortex Sniper Challenge, etc.

Going to use an RRS TA-3-LB (lightweight-ish leveling base).

Price <$650 for legs (so RRS is out, unless there's a crazy good deal on a used one).

With legs splayed for stable shooting, I'm estimating a 56" minimum tripod height for shooting and 60" for glassing (probably higher to be comfortable). I'm 75" tall, and my leveling base will be 1.4", scope line from leveling base is about 4". Does that minimum height seem correct?

I'm favoring the Leofoto LM-364C or Feisol CT-3342; what would you suggest?

Ah, the 2 Vets Recon 2 is the same price and comes in at 4.8 lbs vs 5.6 for the Recon1.,,,ah, maybe leveling head compatibility???

In any case, I'm quite happy with my 2 vets tripod quality. I have a No Name which does take leveling head (per their write up) but only goes to 58.5" but does collapse back to 21.5"

Good luck
