Shuttering of coal fired plants started years ago under Obama EPA. The state had very little to do with it since it's private generators that were faced with retrofitting at astronomical costs or shutting down and building somewhere else

With a few exceptions in the wind turbines and a couple of NG plants that were not winterized, a majority of the generation that was offline during that week was down for scheduled outages. They are scheduled months in advance and the rarest weather phenomenon happened where every single county in the State of Texas was below freezing at the same time, and for multiple days.

Something like 25% of the generation was down and most of that was planned.

Texas regularly has months where the whole state is triple digits. All running electric A/C at the same time. There have been no Brown outs in the oppressive summer heat since Laredo around 2010-2011.

The winter, how many people are on natural gas heaters versus electric? Is it going to be freezing in every County from Brownsville to the Panhandle? I think the grid is going to be fine. I'm almost certain the planned outages will be much less in January and February this year.

This is an impeachable and CONVICTABLE offense in my opinion. Dereliction of duty as Commander in Chief - no question. The whole administration and cabinet should be impeached AND CONVICTED as well.

SCARY how many people do not know this shit is happening. The POTUS is to address CONGRESS. That would, at the minimum, mean a quorum would be present - 25 is not a quorum. It's the amount of people that are tasks with putting makeup on Piglosi and half the amount required to keep Potato Pooper cleaned up and his Depends changed (no offense to Depends).

I keep hoping Trump forms his own party. I believe he'd pull most of the reps and a $hit ton of moderates. Call it the constitutionalist party or something. As a lifelong rep, time to kill the party and the infestation by rhinos. let the rhinos wither away.

disagree, way way too many democrats are unahappy with the liberal sway and that party was on verge of splitting 2yrs ago. I think it opens the door to 4 parties where center becomes the power. not to mention, is the rep party really a rep party any longer? Trump got the most votes ever, EVER it's time
