I do not know what went down in detail during this exercise.

But I can tell you that even the civilian version of ATAK is a game changer for team cooperation IF AND ONLY IF every participant is well versed in using this app. Aside from the learning curve to gain user proficiency, the integration of a smart phone type device in your kit is also not trivial.

Concerning the last question, I assume that the woke-izing of .mil has not affected the top tier units YET.
