6.5 CM what powder would you use for 18" barrel suppressed?

Going to use 142gr ABLR or 129 ABLR? And I have IMR4166, staball, Varget, IMR 4955, and H-1000. Thinking the IMR4166 or varget would be best in short barrel. Staball would probably give better speed but would it burn complete in that short of barrel with can?

I’ve had great luck with RL16 and H4350 in barrels ranging between 16” and 18” suppressed in each case. RL16 will get you a little more speed but they are both great.

Look at the 129ablr, you won’t be making enough speed for the 142 to make since.

Alliant and H4350 are impossible to get right now here. LGS has had 100k order for Alliant for over a year, not one can has come. I may give Staball a try.

39.5gr Varget under a 130 Hybrid gives me 2650fps from an 18” Rock Creek on ARC Nuke.

I'd be looking at giving varget a try with the lighter pill or staball in either pill.

Just settled in on a new load. 18” krieger bolt gun, h4350 43gr 2785fps with a barnes 127lrx

What powder are you using? finally found some ABLR 129gr. Going to try H4831sc and staball when they come in. 2700+ is what I'm hoping for. I just worked up a load for 243 90gr AB using staball and very impressed with that powder so far. 3208 and .4 moa 3 shot groups avg.

Don't try H4831sc in a short barrel. I ran some in my 20" 6.5-06 pushing some 95gr varmint bullets and had a massive fireball out the end of a 8" suppressor. It might be better with a heavier bullet, but that was my experience.
