So I sent in my XRS scope and arc rangefinder binoculars in for warranty right after hunting season. The scope was having major issues with tracking, and the binoculars had an inner lense pop out. I couldn't use the scope for hunting season but the binoculars still got me through the season.

I wasn't sure what to expect because both of those models had been discontinued, but I wasn't expecting this. They sent me a dmr ii pro, and a set of fusion x binoculars for replacement. For reference, the original xrs was the SFP version as well. It's still the elite tactical lineup, but with less features, so that's a pretty significant upgrade. Consider me a bushnell fan boy now

On a side note, UPS can go to hell, they left the boxes on my front step with no notice, and I literally just got home from being away for work for 2 weeks. Lucky I don't live on a busy road where the boxes would have been taken and I would have had literally no idea they even came.

They were around $1500 in canada, but I paid $1000 also. My other dmr ii pro I have was $2700 (paid $2300) before they released the dmr iii. They definitely didn't need to go that far with the replacement, so that's pretty awesome

Glad Bushnell took care of you.

How would UPS know where you were? Did you tell them?

No one knew. Bushnell kinda dropped the ball there too, there wasn't any communication sent letting me know that they were sending me anything, but it's pretty common to receive an email from the shipping company telling you that there is something on the way, or that the package has been delivered. I regularly have packages come and just have someone put it in the house for me.

What would you expect them to do? They replaced an out of production optic with an out of production optic of similar value. One that probably is used or came as a warranty send in from someone else.

When I had warranty work, they charged me on to get an ET fixed and it took months. Granted it was someone elses fault but its not like vortex or any of the players who fix it no questions asked.

The good thing is Bushnell ET's rarely go down, they are built like brick shithouses. But when something does go wrong, they can be a PITA to deal with and are slow.

I was honestly expecting a credit towards something else. I know the dmr ii pro is discontinued now as well, but it isn't similar value. The value might have gone down more in the states, but you can't find the dmr ii pro for less than $2000 in canada right now.

DMR 2 pro was sold all over for $899-1k. Same price as you paid for that early XRS.

Items with lifetime warranties aren't depreciable assets. They either replace them or replace something similar MSRP/Function.

Comparing value of scopes in canada to value of scopes in the states is apples to oranges. You still can't find a gen 2 razor for less than msrp here, they're still selling for $3500 or more. Just like the price of the dmr ii pro was twice as much as the original XRS. And no, function isn't the same between those 2, there are much more features on the dmr ii.

Anyway, not trying to have an argument over scope value, this post was just to pump bushnells tires a little and give them some free publicity for their upgrades.

Here to share in the ❤️.
Have 4 Bushnell ET's and I'm not sure why I buy anything else. Vortex or Luepolds I keep for a couple weeks, then sell at a loss. Maybe a familiarity bias but Bushnell reticles, turrets and overall design are spot on.
P.S. Please bring back the 3-12x.

Bushnell apparently shipped the scope without tracking so that is why you didn't receive a notice that it was coming or that it was delivered by UPS. UPS delivered the package, you should be upset with Bushnell for not let you know it was coming or providing tracking.

I sent in a Legend spotting scope a couple months ago for a repair. Hadn’t heard anything from them for a while, and to be honest, had sort of forgotten about it. We came home from the beach today and a box was sitting on the porch. I live well off the road, where porch pirates don’t roam, so it was all good. I had no idea what it was till I opened it, and it was a brand new Legend. Man what a great surprise.
