If the goal was to rile up their base for the midterms, you might think the better move for the Ds would be to forgo the leak of the first draft and let the official decision come out a bit closer to the midterms when the sting would be more fresh. The left saw this coming as soon as ACB was confirmed to SCOTUS, so it’s not as if it’s out of the blue and will elicit the same degree of shock and outrage. For most, abortion will take a backseat to the economy, rising inflation, gas prices, looming food shortages and potential for war with Russia. The more time between this SC leak and the midterms the more time for Biden and the Ds to add more dumpster fires to their repertoire.

This may have already been said & I missed it but I know quite a few Christians who are devout & very conservative yet surprisingly mostly neutral on abortion.

However…over the last 20 years many of these same Christians have become concerned about the progressives Can’t Stop won’t Stop push.

These same Christians are fed up with all of it. They are sick of it all just the same as an atheist might be sick of it.

The constant pushing well beyond the progressives original stated goals is causing a backlash against issues like abortion where 20 years ago these same Christians were relatively neutral are now pissed off and want it all to stop.

For example:

Guns - Common sense gun control now means assault weapons ban? Nope

Gay Rights - Stay out of my bedroom/personal life now means Transgenderism is taught in elementary school? Nope

Abortion - Safe, Rare, and Legal now means abortion after delivery at nine months (aka infanticide)? Nope

Patriot Act - Monitor jihadis now means tracking all my personal communications? Nope

Legal Immigration- Bring in skilled workers now means no borders and anyone gets to come in with no limits overrunning the system? Nope

That happened because everyone was screwing shit they were not supposed to. If that is offensive for some, then they might consider why they have a problem following rules and order.

Edit: I'll add, that God can do whatever He wants cause He owns it all. That doesn't grant anyone privledge to take his position and kill other people and/or the unborn. Respecting ones position in reality will get them far.

I most certainly will not debate any sort of religious grounds for positions regarding abortion or any other Federal government policy as IMO religion has no legitimate role to play. In our personal lives and decisions that drive our individual actions, certainly. Government....no.

Also, IMO there is absolutely no such thing in the Constitution wrt to the "right to privacy" which was just invented by the liberal/left wing of the court to justify a right to abortion as well as a lot of other individual rights that are no where to be found in the enumerated rights of US citizens. It just doesn't exist.

Now, this is not a happy view for me as I do think there have been a number of other "rights" found to exist under this rational that I generally agree should be the law of the land. But, the fact remains that they are only justified by a "right" that just doesn't exist.

Now, the liberal leftists in the Dem party are up in arms screaming about this "attack on woman's rights" while in fact they did absolutely NOTHING to pass Federal legislation on abortion for the 50 years since roe vs wade including times when they controlled the WH and both chambers of Congress. Let me say it again...in 50 years since roe vs wade, the Dems did absolutely fucking nothing to pass legislation to support their view on abortion. Nada, zip, zilch.

Pelosi and her gang just want someone else (someone who doesn't have to run for office...like SCOTUS justices) to protect "abortion rights" while ducking the issue altogether aside from hysterical sound bites when it looks like roe may be over turned.

They had 50 years to do this this and NEVER ONCE introduced ANY legislation to enact protection for abortion.

Actually I was wondering...what percent of the population that Planned Parenthood is targeted towards has been fully vaccinated? Because those individuals are likely already sterile, so their abortions are taken care of.

I'd be interested on seeing the demographics of "those using most abortion services by Planned Parenthood" and vaccination stats.

i know people are joking, but i don't believe this is a religious issue, but rather a moral one.
it is just that people often get their moral foundations from religious upbringing...and from our judeo-christian based society.
i don't consider myself religious, but i want no part in the killing of babies with my tax money (which does happen already).

Also not having kids before you’re ready is the best way to get folks out of poverty, if you’re poor you can fix that, if you’re poor and have a kid, much less likely to improve that situation.

Sadly most are conditioned to go say some “eugenics” BS line to effective (and reversible) birth control, so we get stuck on this abortion BS.

So that gel injection I posted a link to, one of the reasons it didn’t take off in the US was “not much interest” well I have never met anyone who heard about it, and as a successful guy, and back in the day as a horny high school kid, poor college kid, I’d have been the first fucker to sign up to be able to get my rocks off and not worry about getting a chick knocked up.

Again it feels like big pharma/big gov doesn’t want good/easy birth control

And we still gonna pay for them. Either through taxes or healthcare costs....

It literally only means the federal govt is stepping out of moderating. Handing it to the states...etc. Costs will be spread out to private business through Healthcare/ and govt subsidies, imo...

Interesting observation and one in which as a Christian I struggle with at times & that is the religious vs moral dilemma.

With abortion you may view it as immoral but I view it as a religious/faith based issue. We both can be in agreement that it’s wrong but for divergent view points. Both parties agree it’s bad but for different reasons.

In many cases people can be on the same side of an issue for varying reasons but then the government (or Satan) comes along & stirs it all up causing division.

And no, outside of crazies its never been celebrated, go find 99% of chicks who had one and go randomly bring it up at a party, they’ll probably slap the shit out of you, never talk to you again, and you’ll probably get kicked the fuck out of the party.

Abortion has always been a shit decision for a shitier situation. And most women, even leftists, wouldn’t be down to have a abortion late term. It’s the young and inexperience over opinionated types who never had to make that call who spread that rumor and are mouth about late term shit.

One of my bosses is a left leaning woman, I remember when she was reading the a abortion bill, at first she was like WTF, then read the 16wks (ish) bit and was like who the fuck waits that long, meh I’m ok with that bill.
