Glad to know there's other climbers on here. I seem to not meet many gun aficionados in the climbing community. Thank for the story. I met Jeff a few times. I always thought his diagnosis especially fucked as he may have been the best athlete on the planet when he was in his prime.

What about Royal Robbins, another pioneering climber who died from a disease. Progressive supranuclear palsy. Makes you wonder about what is going on...
I did some climbing in my youth, but stopped after a free climbing accident where the person next to me died. Went on to do safe things, like mixed gas diving, spearfishing, etc.
