A Kiwi just flew in.

Funnily enough...my Paternal ancestors were from Ireland too.
GGrand-dad came to NZ about 1870 (ish).
We Irish are a far-flung lot! Great-Great-Grandfather Owen came to America in 1861 to tend the farm while his brother, Uncle Michael, went off to shoot Confederates during the Civil War. We are always and forever sons of the Emerald Isle no matter the generations and/or geography! She needs our help and we'll come running! LOL!

G'day from Oz. (Kyora ?.. I can't spell)
Sorry about you fine sheep-shaggers loosing easy access to semis, and that horse-face dude running the show.

Otherwise, welcome aboard and tell us a good hunting / war / family / drunk story. You old timers have the best ones.

What part of NZ are you from?

I really like Nelson. I'd often catch a Cessna Caravan from Welly to Nelson on a Friday night, then in the AM either skydive in Motueka or do outdoor fun in Abel Tasman. And Golden Bay, damn...what a wonderful place to relax at the end of the year. That Anatoki salmon farm is soooo delicious!

Yes, nice area.
My Daughter owns a beachside house (holiday home) at Pakawau.
Lovely beach.
Yeah, you need to be here. Put your feet up, relax, let the World just drift by.
I'll shout you a coffee!
Then you can test my Whiskey too (it's legal in NZ to own/operate an alcohol still).
I make a really fine drop (Single grain...it's all real 'brewing/distilling'...none of this flavoured sugar water rubbish).

Hi....
I'm on a few forums as I like to get ideas/comments/etc from a wide variety of folks. Plus I want to see just what you are all up to.
I'm a retired Firefighter, and ex NZ Army...75 this year. Been to a few strange and scary places.
Looking forward to 'meeting' you on here, and maybe trading ideas/thoughts/etc.
Regards to all.
Nice to see another kiwi
