Mechanics are smart enough to not put service and wear parts behind major components that must be removed for replacement or service. Unlike engineers.

Engineers are smart enough not to do that either. That’s forced on them by the design mandate given to them by companies wanting predetermined performance /economic goals.

Also helps when the engineers and designers know they'll never have to actually work on it in a real-life scenario.

Not judging by the way. It’s both common and normal.

The reason is simple survival.
Human vision developed to deal with spotting hidden / camouflaged prey and predators.
You better be able to make out the face of that lion hiding in the grass or you are dinner.

So your brain constantly scans for anything looking like a face, a face of anything human, animal, bird, fish etc.

Most folks probably don't know how to tune out their busy mind and concentrate on what the automatic brain is doing, but many people can do so, and as such you can consciously access all the pattern matching that your automatic brain is doing.

I see people and especially vehicle patterns.

I was an auto mechanic before I was Career Fire/EMS. My youngest was an automotive engineer for 20 years before he went Career Fire. At his wedding he brought me over to the table all his engineer buddy's were sitting at. They knew I used to be a mechanic... They all said " Yeah we're the assholes who designed that shit" :)

Yes they designed it. Do you think they designed it that way to piss off mechanics? Or do you think the designed the way they did because their bosses gave the fuel efficiency / ease of assembly on the production line / production cost / product cycle production timelines / etc. goals?

One of them actually said we designed it to work... and make a profit selling it. Beyond assembly the design may or may not be easily serviceable or serviceable at all. That's actually what my son did... Technical Bulletins and ECO's. Fuel efficiency/ low emissions! He said if I had a design to save thousands of lives it might be adopted. If I had a design to lower emissions it Would be adopted.

Looks like someone above beat me to it but its worth a replay. Damn she's ugly.

If only they had the balls to do it.

Some mechanics are smarter than engineers.

I mean if it did not need those parts . . . and still works - why would the engineers design it that way?
Because engineers are fucking retarded. They should be made to fix the first dozen of whatever bullshit they make that eats itself as soon as it gets in the field

Hey, not all of us...well, I'm not a parchment on the wall engineer, but my job title is "Senior Systems Engineer". :ROFLMAO:

I had the first generation Jeep Wrangler YJ 1987, the morons that designed it ran fuel line (stainless hard line) directly over the top of the oil fill. Granted, that was an AMC POS, but still...that was short bus retard.

Fuck em for that too!

I love this kid. He says he would like to shoot my M1-A. I said it's a pretty big heavy rifle compared to your 16" AR. He says " So no-one ever went to basic in the M14 era that was 5'5" and weighed 115 pounds? He's 11. Truth is I barely cover that now.

92 3X RF Prone. Not a great group but getting there. Good match. Plotted all his calls and was pretty close on most of them. Made a couple errors and he forgets trigger follow through too much. Every time he would look back and say to me " follow through" He is progressing well.
