Last time I drank it was for a friends wake, on a boat, 20+ miles offshore, in 30 foot seas, on a commercial fishing boat that rode rough in smooth water.
Didn't get sick.....kinda wished I did might have made it better.
1 case of Jamesons.....6 of us on the boat for about 25-30 hours (overnight fishing trip/wake).....ugh, can't even smell it w/o the queezies.
If you mean the academic who claimed Baum was a socialist and the whole thing was an indictment of the industrial age and robber barons? Her work was largely discredited as ‘60’s revisionism. Baum was a great storyteller and used stuff from his life and experiences. He wasn’t a raging socialist any more than Pink Floyd designed a record around the first hour of the movie…. It’s actually a great American success story and Baum did very well off the book.

My uncle Jerry was the best man I have ever known. I followed him around his farm every summer as a kid and he had a refrigerator in one barn full, I mean overflowing with Tab. That was his drink and I learned to love them. Whenever I see an old Tab can or smell those Christmas tree air fresheners I am transported to a farm in Johnston County and am 10 years old again.
