Friend sent this over in route to work. Bums having a warming fire, portland is a lovely city.
That was not a new idea. Enter the Roman plumbata. So, yes, they got paid to throw cool toys at their enemies.
That will not work on "those" people. They don't buy into any of that to start with.
I don't doubt this one. His last years are not pretty.
Personally, and I have said this before true genius drift pretty far away from "human" skills. The more "genius" they are the worse "people" they are, and the worse they are with people.
Vs someone like Eddison, who was a no talent hack. He did not invent a single thing he kept trying at something till he finally got it right, improving on the ideas of others. Sorry if that ruffles feathers but it is accurate, he did not "invent" the light bulb, but the "practical" light bulb.
Eddison was a business man, and worked it as that, a big business, and knew what it took to be successful. Tesla on the other hand was an inventor, making things that we still don't fully understand, and things that would not be used for generations. World changing things.
Electricity over the air, for no cost.....just how can you make money at that. And I do think he did it.
I also believe he "gave away" his rights to AC power to westinghouse.
