Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

Anyone know if ARC is doing this action in a full build rifle? xylo chassis, triggertech trigger, criteon barrel etc

I would buy one in a heart beat for 2500 neighborhood

.308 would be awesome too

Wouldnt it be the same thing you can build yourself , only right now?
Short of i guess. 900 action, lets say 450 barrel, 100 for wrench, 1100 for xylo chassis, 210 trigger and still need a barrel vise lets say 100. so 2700 there abouts. Also I wouldn't have to deal with picking the barrel. we have PVA and preferred barrel blanks. Shouldered only no barrel nuts. don't want to deal with headspace gauges. If Proof Research did barrels I would get one now

bugholes.com? i duscussed it in length with them. but i did offer to have my action sent to them, direct from arc.

shoot em an email, or call
Yeah, they would prefer to have the action in hand. Which at this point I think is the best way to go anyway. No surprises later. They will build it off the print but if it doesn't work the repair is on your dime.

Direct shipping them the action was a smart move on your part.

From what they’ve told me, yes, it’s on the roadmap but no definitive timeline. My guess is they’d want to get through the preorder state and get some barrel and performance feedback before selling the full kit. I think you’re probably looking at $2750-$2900 through them. That's just my own guesstimate and not based on anything from them. A straight replacement of the Nucleus price would be stellar. Didn’t the PRS cap change to $3000? That’s one of the limits they would be thinking about.

Could probably upgrade from a criterion to a bartlein and a TT special to a diamond and stay under 3k

Well, I couldn’t wait any more and just had my smith charge me for a lone peak for my 22 dasher. Need it by the hornady match coming up and was at the last point to have him chamber a barrel. So my new plan is to have this chambered in 260 as I have ran into minor issues with feedramps on my other 260, and since this has the ramps built into the barrel essentially, I think I’ll get more clearance that way! Got a gold TT diamond and a gold morgun king TMB to go with my red bolt knob. Gonna be sexy!! Sit it in a black mdt acc!

I think I’m at:

Xylo: $1099
CDG: $899
Trigger: $199
Barrel: $699
—————————
Total ~$2900 before shipping & taxes.

Then rings, scope, wrench, mags for another ~$1500. Let’s not forget new bags, cases, gauges, etc. It’s worse than car racing. Lol. Well, maybe not.

I wanted to wait for the full kit, but didn’t want to risk a forever wait.

What is going to be the best way to get a matching finish on a custom prefit barrel to the CDG action?

Making sure they’re the same material and go to the same surface treatment facility.
Good luck.

Graphite black should match but you don’t look serious unless you just leave your barrel stainless. That’s how we know your an actual shooter because you know the barrel will be shot out and need to be replaced so frequently that cerakotojg is a waste of money.

Lol
Holy fuck by this standard I'm a godam operator........yeeeehaaahhhh. (Or a poors). Shit I'm a poors.

I just couldn't put a Green Brake on this. Red caliper paint fixed it up.

I’m definitely not an actual shooter. I’m very new to precision shooting…so I’ll go with the graphite black cerakote. Gotta make sure no one confuses me for a professional.

When Ted introduced his Mausingfield, he described the engineering of its safety features. Through the succession of actions from Mausingfield to CDG, I have heard or read no further mention of the various actions' safety features. Does anyone know if these new actions have the same "Ka—BOOM" safety features as the Mausingfield?

Also, has anyone measured lock times with a variety of triggers/trigger pulls compared to other manufacturers' actions?

At the risk of repeating myself, I'd love to see a scaled "micro" version that flies with AR-style magazines (5.56, 6.5 Grendel, .300 BLK, etc.).

Yeah Ted still tests everything. Search his posts in this thread.
Ted posted this pic of a destructive test on the CDG.

Very very nice.
It looks like I won't get my hands on a CDG for some considerable time.
I've been harassing a dealer here in Australia who has dealt with American Rifle Co previously & sold ARC actions, mags & etc with no joy in sight of even getting a reply from ARC to put an order in on a CDG.
If you read this post Ted, please get in touch with Delta Tactical so I can get my order in & maybe have my hands on a CDG before Xmas.

By the way 357max, what cartridge you running in that rifle & are you going to try AW mags?

It’s a 308 Win. Set up for PRS TAC class. 169SMK’s at speed limit of 2800. The mag is an AW + extension that holds 14. Mag mod was outlined in this thread prolly 8 or 10 pages back. Shot 1 match already & it fed flawlessly.

The MDT weights hanging on there is an interesting twist. How much does this thing weigh? Nice looking rig.
Weights, bi-pod, & brake are MDT.
Gun weight is 22lbs 5oz as it sits With bi-pod & mag included.

I’ve got a few extras coming into Aus in a few weeks, pm’d you.
Thanks man.
Things are looking up now.
Thanks for chiming in when you did. I was loosing hope there for a while.
Now all I need is for one of these nice yank gents to chamber for 6BR running AW mags & tell us how "operator as fuck" the CDG is.

What’s your question about? It looks right to me.
Well the whole extractor hitting the cone issue. Bohem said you can't judge it with a case because the groove is all over the place on brass but as much clearance as mine has I figure its probably gtg. But either way PVA will take care of you.

My smith should be cutting my 6bra barrel for the CDG this week. He's also cutting a 6gt and 65cm for it as I have a pair of CDG actions.
