Join contest SubscribeWe only got one channel where I grew up.First color TV show I ever saw was the Flintstones. Folks next door to my grandparents were rich. Owned an appliance store. Their son was a couple years older. I remember us checking all three channels for color programs. Didn't mater what they were about.

B/W TV that showed mostly snow.
There was a difference in the "quality" of japanese steel and US steel in the 30's. The US and other european steels are just "better". The US 16 really had the power of the Japanese 18. The japanese had to go to the 18 because they could not make a 16" gun that would take pressures so they got there with a larger bore and weight. One reason the two ships, really three the carrier shinano was converted from a yamoto class ship that was not finished had to be so big and heavy, to give them the same punch as the american and british ships.
Fun fact the 18" guns also had an AA role. Basically a big shotgun, but reports from american pilots say it was not too much to worry about, but it sure was pretty to look at.
We really need an f'n idiot emoji...
Poor puppy! That's my worst fear. I got home one day last week, parked the truck, and went to get the dogs. In that couple of minutes, a copperhead came out, and was underneath the truck by one of the back tires. Both my dogs went within a foot of it, and never saw it.
I was right behind them, with my dedicated snake gun in hand. It holds 9 CCI shot shells.View attachment 8161774View attachment 8161775

AI is logical. It knows the great reset will wreck everything and solve nothing. It spoke the truth.

The last big snow and ice storm of 2021 showed me something about AWD. I had a Jeep TJ Rubicon and with axles locked it spun and clawed up the steepest part of my driveway. My wife’s new Honda Pilot went up with zero drama. It just put the torque to the right wheel at the right time and scooted up like it wasn’t a thing. I was likeI've pulled more than a few AWDs from sand and mund.

I absolutely have seen stuff like this (20 years in dealership fixed ops).About 20 years ago, I was in north Alabama when a snowstorm hit. I had a 4WD Tahoe at the time. I left a redlight headed up a fair grade and passed a lady in a Jeep that couldn't make it up the hill. I pulled over and asked if she had engaged the four-wheel-drive. She looked at me like I was speaking Klingon. I pointed to the button on the dash and said, "Push that." She followed me up the hill.

I cannot tell you all but folks who come in saying their steering wheel is messed up because they didn’t know they had tilt wheel. Folks with windows inop due to not knowing there’s a child lock on the drivers door. Folks mad that their climate control blows out heat from the floor and not dash vents (when in auto).
And…yep my Tahoe is acting weird when I turn…..how long has it been doing this…..about 2 weeks…..yep it was in 4 high on pavement for 2 weeks.
Thanks for that, it is fantastic.Great point. There is also lots of inside detail around the armor on the US ships. It actually worked as designed.
Ching Lee who led the USS Washington vs the Kirishima also had inside knowledge of the Japanese armor as well.
Here is the AAR on the damage to the Kirishima.
