Took some time off. I have been busy. I have some time now. My posts have been clear. I condemn killing women children and civillians. I came into this thread outraged at the despicable hamas actions. They are still despicable. The Israeli response has been despicable also. The whole thing makes me sick.
What is the "propaganda" post? Really i find propaganda to be self defeating, If you can identify propaganda - deception you can understand that manipulation is being attempted, This leads to distrust of the material presented.
I came into this thread mostly concerned about the implications for a terror attack in the USA. This is still a concern for me. Also the possibility for a world war is quite concerning. These are risks to the USA. I would prefer to not see more innocents hurt.
As I evaluated Israels response I also educated myself some more on the issues. But more than anything I am horrified by the large amount of civillian deaths. It bothers me.
I have always thought Israel possesing nuclear weapons while not being signatory to the nuclear non proliferation treaty quite odd. Why are they allowed this unique status? This is even more concerning now that I see their disproportional use of force. I believe they will use nuclear weapons preemptively. In many ways I think Israel manipulates the USA. I have some Jewish friends and early in my life some Jewish girl friends. I think of them in very appreciative manner. Its one of the things that I think bears discussion, the diference between the state of Israel and Judaism.
I believe nations and individuals should be judged on their actions. This whole thing is a big mess. I question whether unconditional support of Israel is the right path for the USA in this matter. I think thats appropriate considering their use of force on civilians. Fundamentally I question whether Israel is truly a friend to the USA. I tend to look at things in simplistic ways. If i had a friend who was doing what Israel was doing i would question it too.
Basically it has been my opinion that the USA has been in some deep shit for several decades. I would really like my country to act in a moral and ethical manner at the same time it stands up for justice, I would really like the killing of innocents to stop both palestinian and Israeli.
I think these are important questions our country needs to have a frank discussion about because I think our present course is very dangerous. Im old -65. As we have entered this crisis I have felt the need to speak out for what I think is important. I know my voice doesnt matter but i feel the need to speak. Its because i think things are really bad. If you think my perspective is incorrect discard it. I think some really important fundamental human values are being discarded. I think we are on the wrong path spiritually. Ive always been this way. I think its important to speak out. Most times i just dont care enough about the issues to speak out. I evaluate every issue on its merits. Im not a troll. Certainly not a paid one. I came back to this forum because I have the time to shoot again and this is IMO the premier source of information. I know the skill level is very high here- much higher than mine. Then this shitstorm hit. If you think my words have no value just discard them. Im not a troll. Im a fat old man that really doesnt like what he sees for the future of his country and much more importantly the people that live here. Im primarily advocating people try their best to really check whats in their hearts as we enter these times. Whose side am I on? I would like to think im on the side of the innocents those whose life has been taken- and will be taken- regardless of their team status. There is some pretty fucked up things happening. It doesnt seem right to me. You are suspicious that im on a team of some sort. When i see attempts to put issues into a team box-even when it doesnt make sense to go in that box- i get suspicious also. Suspicious that the intent is to deceive via divisivness.
