Using the 2% NY sales tax rate, I've determined this ad ran sometime during the window of 8/1/1965 to 4/1/1969.
If this ad ran today, imagine the warnings and disclaimers it would require. (nuclear reactor not included, does not float, do not use in water, etc.)

Found this photo online.

Go to h1 unlimited boat racing. Those boats make around 5000hp. The boat in question proabaly wasn't even 1000.
Very incorrect the UH class runs about 3000hp, it's a turbine based on what's used in the chinook. Even the next class down is running over 3,000hp(from TF hydro drag boats)

1,000hp won't push a boat 250-270 in 1000ft. TF even swapped to twin screws years back to handle the high horse power numbers.

Hell, even if I didnt know anything this is all common knowledge in boat racing that can be googled to show y'all are wrong lol.

Critical thinking and using available resources to follow the scientific method to a conclusion. That is a sign of White Supremacy. Cancel him!!! 😂

Not only you got the correct time frame but in the bullseye too... Noice!

ETA: If this was in a college class anywhere right now and you did that demonstration in front of the class, everybody will try to make your life hell and the instructor will be trying to find any excuse to fail you...

Very incorrect mostly made up gobbledygook.

Hell. You don't know anything. Who even informed you otherwise probably didn't either.

The California current comes down from Alaska. The ocean off of the coast of Cali is cold (ever Notice all the surfers there are in wet suits and nobody is in the water at the beaches?)

the result is a fog layer just offshore over the water called the Marine Layer. When the inland valley heats up it causes the air to rise, this has the effect of pulling air in toward the coast from the ocean the result is that you get areas completely socked in during the summer. (I worked at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Station for 18 months).
There are lots of images, but this one provides scale :)

Moro Bay can look like a set from a vampire movie for days on end. Fog swirling around looks like something from a stage performance
Similar but nearly opposite phenomena in Idaho/Washington along the Snake River and into Hells Canyon. That area experiences, on average, 15-20 days in the summer of temperatures over 110F. In the evening, after the sun goes down, it will get cool enough that you will be wanting a long sleeved shirt or jacket and long pants. Very low humidity and no clouds to hold in the heat.

As the day warms up, the rising warm air creates an incoming current all the way from the Pacific right along the river canyons. By 17:00, you will find it VERY difficult to carry a sheet of plywood by yourself with the 32 ft^2 of sail area. Ir will very often create a dust storm of epic proportions. Repeat again tomorrow.

This photo is NOT of Hells Canyon, rather looking down into the North Fork of the Clearwater River during elk rifle season after a 3 day rain.

It would read like that for someone who doesn't know anything, looking at you.

If the turbine UH ran the numbers you said the Allison boats wouldn't be able to keep up and yet they do. Even the turbo v12 guys only claim 4,000hp.

"Powered by the same turbine engines that once powered our military's Chinook helicopters and running on Jet-A fuel, Unlimited engines are capable of pumping out 3,000 horsepower." -APBA
