LOLOL I was just at that same exact station today. And yep, fight's over by that point, even if the other dude still got up trying to swing. Those were 3 fuckin' solid martial arts grade kicks right to the ass that demonstrates pretty clear skill and ability. In Elite Dangerous, that would be the equivalent of a destroyer or fighter pilot scoring several consecutive hits on a capital ship's main armament turret or power core. The capital ship does not even need to be seriously damaged. Just by flying by and hitting their core areas several times while moving at high speeds shows everybody in the battle that this pilot KNOWS what he is doing and he CAN fuck you up if he wanted to.

Comparing a computer game / simulation to anything in the real world? You must be one of those pax’s that stick their heads in the cockpit after a flight to tell how you could do it better.

Nope, not even close... BUT, because of the realism of Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen, I use them as a chance to further practice target acquisition with red dot sights using the aiming reticles on the ships' weapons, in environments where targets are moving around very fast and you gotta have good reflexes and reaction speed. I don't even play them that much but I still got onto the upper tiers of the dogfighting categories. They are useful as SUPPLEMENTARY TRAINING AIDS, not the real thing of course.

That said, right now I have one of my dual monitors on Elite and I am hitching a ride on a Fleet Carrier just enjoying the sights, like riding a subway train between stars LOL:

"There is a downtown express train approaching the station. Please stand away from the platform edge"...
