Registered mail is actually very cheap. I have used it a whole lot. I sent a rifle I own that is the only known existing example across the country registered mail once. I trust it. I think it cost me 50 bucks. Probably a bit more now.
Man, I’m going on vacation that way lol

Side question…. Do many folks out there run an AI chassis with (insert custom 700 style action)? I feel like I never see many builds just utilizing the chassis. I have a Zermatt TL3 around and honestly thinking of picking up just the AT-X chassis.
There’s a whole thread dedicated to it in this sub forum.

I have a couple of rifles in AICS chassis.
6.5PRC - ATX AICS
308 - AXSR AICS
22LR - ATX AICS short

They are all outstanding, the machining quality and components are the same as the actual AI rifles they represent.

Guess that’s the way ima do it then since it looks like getting another SFP bolt is:
Very expensive

Hey gents,

Regarding mail. We've been in business formally since early 2009. In that time I have had around 6 or 7 guns/parts go MIA for a while via the USPS. They've all been recovered, but it took a while. By and large, USPS Priority Mail does a very good job.

What can get you into trouble:

Plastic gun cases in the wintertime. Attaching a label directly to the plastic is a good way to lose your stuff. The adhesive on the label doesn't stick to the plastic very well. You are far better off using a luggage tag around the handle like the airport does.

Tangs on receivers like an M700 are how you blast a hole in a case. They are sharp and will pierce the plastic easily. Spend a little time wrapping a receiver in something that'll prevent this.

Trigger shoes suffer a very high mortality rate. Either remove them completely or attach the floormetal to the action.

Bolts... NEVER ship a rifle or barreled action with the bolt in the receiver. Experience is never cheap.

Shipping via certified mail is about the most secure means to send something, but know that it'll move at a geological pace.

Another option is FedEx or UPS but the policy has changed regarding complete rifles. If shipping a whole gun, you would need to either have an FFL and an account or go to a local dealer you are comfortable working with and have them send it using their account. For non-serialized parts such as a bolt, it's pretty smooth sailing. Just declare it as a "machined part" and send it just as you would a pair of sneakers.

Hope this helped.

At Shot Show and can confirm the XC’s oversized knob is MASSIVE and the bolt lift is significantly lighter.

Overall didn’t feel a whole lot lighter
Hey I saw on instagram the XC they had there didn't have a firing pin in so the guy couldn't test it, while all the other rifles had pins in. Could you get video of the difference for the hide?

Ask them about parts for existing rifles. Like bolts and firing pins!!!!
YEAH

Thumbs up.gif

Yeah, one of the reps was able to actually show me. I’ll see if they are there tomorrow. I’ll ask about parts also

Doesn’t look like the new bolt will swap into the earlier gen AT- X actions. Back of the bolt shroud is a different shape

I think it’s just scalloped, as long as the firing pin assembly will fit in the bolt body it won’t matter anyway. Assuming the breech ring is the same as current AT actions, which is probably not a safe assumption.

I’m going to assume it will be like the AXSR bolt. Which is not compatible with the AXMC it replaced

It's not someone said the bolt lugs are more similar to the axsr

Anyone else notice that the pic rail on the AT-XC Mil isn’t angling down at 20moa like the scope rail?

My AX sure seems to have a continuously angled 20moa rail all the way to the end of the handguard.

Not like it matters, really. I don’t think. Looks weird. Hmmmm. I don’t own any thermal/NV.

It does have a cant to it if you look at other pictures of it.

Every AI had firing pins except the “dynamic bolt lift AI”. Did you notice that?

Yeah, I guess I’m just a full retard and didn’t even notice there was no firing pin, especially because the rest did now that I think about it. No wonder it was so light.

I’ll try and stop by again and see if it’s changed today and try to get some answers on the legacy AT parts.

Why would a company advertise a new action with better bolt operation and then make that the only action on the display that doesn’t have a firing pin and can’t be legitimately compared to the ones next to it.

Probably told you it’s lighter to huh?

Then zip tied it to the table

Because it won’t be available until 2027

Well...today I applied lessons learned from my purchase of the AXMC some 5 years ago.

Although I still have not decided about the purchase of an LH AXSR to go with my AT and AXMC, I did buy all of the LH AXSR bolt bodies and a spare LH AXSR Shroud/Firing Pin Assy today.

At least I will have everything should I decide to purchase the AXSR.

Are there poors in a dedicated AI thread?

I can always sell them all if I don't go that route but makes a future purchase much more feasible. I am a practical person after all

Until they come out with a gen2 LH AXSR that uses a new bolt and they discontinue the gen1 rifle :ROFLMAO:

you went from "never" to "i did buy" pretty fast lol. I get it though. The AXSR is irresistible. Especially in Elite Sand. The only improvement I could see would be eliminating the safety completely (bolt guns don't need safeties) and bonding the action. Oh, and space for both hex keys in the cheekpiece. And it should come with the TBAC SR brake instead of the CB one.
(I personally like key slot, the axsr trigger, the grip, etc). ....And actually it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they made an AXMC style mag spacer so you had the option of running 308 AICS or AW mags or the 308 axsr mags depending on whether you're really shooting 308 because you want to, or just practicing for a real cartridge.

Curious why you bought all 3 though. I mean, why not buy 2, as the 3rd will come with the rifle? now you'll have 4 bolt bodies

LOL

I believe I said, "never unless all options were available at the time of purchase." All options were available today so my statement is consistent.

I am on the fence but I figured that this was a no-lose scenario. I will always be able to sell the parts to some poor soul like me when the AXSR is replaced and a southpaw is looking for parts or earlier if the LH parts dry up.

I don't think I would buy the rifle without trying one but who knows

I'm going to be an enabler here... I think you'd be really happy with the Axsr.
