Is anyone else having hesitation with support hand placement on AT-XC? That gas port is right where I place my support hand on occasions.

Look at the bright side-you won't be clipping that finger nail ever again--Is anyone else having hesitation with support hand placement on AT-XC? That gas port is right where I place my support hand on occasions.
Hopefully because of the soon to be short mag support. Soon is a relative term here. We might see it in a few years or a couple more decades.I still wonder why they did this redesign. Unless they are hiding all the AX308's that are blowing apart.
Based on some comments that Scott has made in Shot Show interviews, it seems like they also largely did it to bring their short action receiver into alignment with their long action AXSR. Since at this point the SA has been the same for nearly a decade while the LA has been having progressive updates.I still wonder why they did this redesign. From a manufacturing standpoint it makes a lot of sense to make all of your products the same way with the same tooling, just modifying dimensions for SA vs LA.
Because it was perfect . . . until the skinny-jeans flat billed crew complained about how heavy the bolt lift was.* And now, you're going to have the equivalent of a 4-cylinder turbo replacing the bulletproof Toyota V6. The people complaining about the heavy bolt lift are the bolt-action world functional equivalent of Greta Thunberg forcing manufacturers to sacrifice unparalleled reliability for environmental sensibility.**Since at this point the SA has been the same for nearly a decade while the LA has been having progressive updates.
But seriously....Because it was perfect . . . until the skinny-jeans flat billed crew complained about how heavy the bolt lift was.* And now, you're going to have the equivalent of a 4-cylinder turbo replacing the bulletproof Toyota V6. *I'm just joking.
**I'm still just joking.
There are a lot more differences between the short action and long action AI'S besides length.
If its a short throw bolt I'll be able to lift it, got a new shotgun today check it out .Honestly how often is this a thing really? I mean I could see @rustyinbend needing this feature with his reloading skills but he and @candyx can't lift the bolt on the AI so it's a moot point ....
I understood from previous threads that the context was “Discontinued for civilian sales.”I contacted Sporting Services UK.
They confirmed that the AT and AX have been discontinued.

Did Sporting Services UK happen to discuss this point?

As a guy who bought an AT this week, clarity is a good thing. Why does it matter.... They are moving on eventually its going to be all axsr atxc
As a guy who bought an AT this week, clarity is a good thing.
If police and military AT usage keep me in spare parts, that is also a good thing.
-Stan
Indeed. This must be your first time with an ai roll out?![]()
Indeed.
Please, school me based on your previous experience with AI roll-outs.
-Stan
You had me at “Your gonna be aight tho.”Lol my sweet child. Read up here on the hide ...... Your gonna be aight tho
Over promise and under deliver pretty much sums it up.Indeed.

All I want is my AT.Over promise and under deliver pretty much sums it up.
But we keep buying them anyway because they are still the best.
I want an AT with thumbole stock. All I want is my AT.
None of the newer models appeal to me, admittedly for weird irrational reasons disconnected from reality.
-Stan
Everyone wants an AT with a thumbhole stockI want an AT with thumbole stock.
You can probably find one in the px for $35I didn't get a free labradar when I bought my AXSR, i had to buy my own. MotherF. Should have waited I guess.
I searched my email, and that promo is from Mile High lol. Must be a write off to get rid of existing Labradar stock. Although…not like the SR is a huge seller. Who knows?Did anyone else see this gem ?
Just in case an outdated unreliable chronograph will convince you to pull the trigger on a $10k rifle …View attachment 8346031
I didn't ask and they didn't say specifically, other than spares and accessories will still be available.I understood from previous threads that the context was “Discontinued for civilian sales.”

Thank you!I didn't ask and they didn't say specifically, other than spares and accessories will still be available.
There must be thousands of AW/AT/AXs in civilian/Mil/LEO hands that I can't see them dropping support for these older rifles anytime soon.
Being an AI you'd hope that they won't be prone to breaking every match, so I wouldn't be too worried about it.
I was all set to order an AT-X, then when the new AT-XC got announced I was keen to get one.Thank you!
-Stan
I think you want an older AI that had the stock shaped like the old 3P target rifles.I shoot field target comps in Europe and all shots are taken off hand unsupported.
Anybody know the app weight of an AX-XC without all the bells and whistels with a 24" rem varmint barrel?
Slow roll.......is the biggest understatement possible.Indeed.
Please, school me based on your previous experience with AI roll-outs.

Thank you.Slow roll.......is the biggest understatement possible.
Thank you.
Lucky for me none of their new PRS-inspired designs are appealing, which is why I grabbed an AT before they go extinct to civilians.

It’s a good way to get rid of the AT action inventory like how the Gen1-3 ATX helped reduce inventory to make room for the new ATXMC action.I kinda think this was the plan. Let's make a "replacement" that cost a lot more and has features not everyone wants. Then "discontinue" our old model.
It's gotta be driving sales of the AT. I know I had very little desire to get one. It's always been a "someday I'll grab one" thought. Now I'm actually thinking I need one.
It seems like prices on the AT were increased, so I wouldn't count on a sale. I would (and did) jump on one of the deals in the PX if you want to have one.I hope they have a close out sale on the AT. Picked up a AT-X gen3 a while back and I like it, but I don't shoot PRS so don't really benefit from most of the features. For instance I'd rather have replaceable plastic on the stock versus a full length metal arca that can be damaged easily.
No, been there, done that.I think you want an older AI that had the stock shaped like the old 3P target rifles.
Can’t get what in the US?Cool rifle, however, I don't think you can get them in the US.
Anshutz 1782 rifle is. That combo not as I see. https://www.anschutznorthamerica.com/store/c87/1782_Series.htmlCool rifle, however, I don't think you can get them in the US.
I was thinking the same thing…
Yes it is but I believe it’s an OEM exclusive chassis, so I don’t believe MDT has the inlet available for purchaseAnshutz 1782 rifle is. That combo not as I see. https://www.anschutznorthamerica.com/store/c87/1782_Series.html
Isn't that just an MDT acc premier chassis?
Are they available here? @MDT_OFFICIAL @MDT_Josh
