Is anyone else having hesitation with support hand placement on AT-XC? That gas port is right where I place my support hand on occasions.

Common spot for a port on any action. And unless you're using some pretty questionable ammo, not really anything that you're going to utilize.

Honestly how often is this a thing really? I mean I could see @rustyinbend needing this feature with his reloading skills but he and @candyx can't lift the bolt on the AI so it's a moot point ....

Hopefully because of the soon to be short mag support. Soon is a relative term here. We might see it in a few years or a couple more decades.

Based on some comments that Scott has made in Shot Show interviews, it seems like they also largely did it to bring their short action receiver into alignment with their long action AXSR. Since at this point the SA has been the same for nearly a decade while the LA has been having progressive updates.

From a manufacturing standpoint it makes a lot of sense to make all of your products the same way with the same tooling, just modifying dimensions for SA vs LA.

There are a lot more differences between the short action and long action AI'S besides length.

Understood, there are differences in material thickness in strategic areas as well as some geometry changes to improve structural integrity to withstand the higher pressures. At the end of the day, the new SA is going to reflect the design of the LA AXSR in a smaller package.

I contacted Sporting Services UK.
They confirmed that the AT and AX have been discontinued.

They said their last order for ATs will be arriving mid this year, with no future orders in sight. Spare and accessories should still be available into the future.

They seem to have a pretty direct line to AI so sounds like nows the time to find an AX or AT if you really want one.

As a guy who bought an AT this week, clarity is a good thing.

If police and military AT usage keep me in spare parts, that is also a good thing.

This is the equivalent of including a Allen 9 round buttstock ammo holder at this point

I searched my email, and that promo is from Mile High lol. Must be a write off to get rid of existing Labradar stock. Although…not like the SR is a huge seller. Who knows?

There must be thousands of AW/AT/AXs in civilian/Mil/LEO hands that I can't see them dropping support for these older rifles anytime soon.

Being an AI you'd hope that they won't be prone to breaking every match, so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

I was all set to order an AT-X, then when the new AT-XC got announced I was keen to get one.
But once I found out the AT was being dis continued I decided to jump on that instead, while I can still get one.

Not the race gun I probably should be buying but YOLO.

I think you want an older AI that had the stock shaped like the old 3P target rifles.

It’s a good way to get rid of the AT action inventory like how the Gen1-3 ATX helped reduce inventory to make room for the new ATXMC action.

I hope they have a close out sale on the AT. Picked up a AT-X gen3 a while back and I like it, but I don't shoot PRS so don't really benefit from most of the features. For instance I'd rather have replaceable plastic on the stock versus a full length metal arca that can be damaged easily.

It seems like prices on the AT were increased, so I wouldn't count on a sale. I would (and did) jump on one of the deals in the PX if you want to have one.

No, been there, done that.
I shoot better with a chassis rifle like the Walther LG400. Moving targets off hand is also in the equation.
That's why the new AI looks interesting. However, the weight in stock config is way too high.
Slimming down the new Anschutz is also an option. The Annie is much cheaper and has a better trigger.

Yes it is but I believe it’s an OEM exclusive chassis, so I don’t believe MDT has the inlet available for purchase

Some legitimate complaints in this thread about AIs part availability etc. I will add not having correct size pic rails. It doesn’t matter till you start using clip ons etc and have to adjust the clamp from rifle to rifle. Gay
