1911's aren't my cup of tea. I'm a W. German SIG guy (or Swiss SIG's), but I do appreciate beautiful pieces.

Definitely not laughing... More like impressed and in awe that these exist. They are straight out of Van Helsing, the Dark Tower series, and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen... You basically reached elite tier 1911 connoisseur with that piece. Awesome pic.
Yeah, I balked a bit at the price when I ordered mine (a lot ’cheaper’ than the ones in the videos above btw), but I wanted something to pass on to the next generation…got a custom serial # and everything.
Not meteorite, but had Nate Challis make us a set of petrified coral grips for this one. Didn’t plan to shoot it much, but it’s so damn sweet to shoot, that I take it out every few months just to remind myself what good feels like. I honestly can’t describe it adequately, but it literally feels like an extension of my arm when in hand, and the action is unlike anything else I’ve ever experienced.
Like oiled plates of glass sliding past each other is the best description I can think of right now. My Nighthawk and STI are close (and get shot a lot more, LoL), but my Cabot is an entirely different experience. Again, sublime…
And Sam Andrews did a hell of a job on the holster/mag pouch in spinal stingray. Waited almost as long for those as I did the pistol, LoL

You are correct, I think it came with a 455 stock, don't recall what year though
It's a Jetstar 88. It had a smaller V8 and I built the 455 to put in it.
I wish I had researched a bit before buying it. The Jetstar was redesigned in 66 and the price was very close to the next model up. So it didn't sell very well and Olds discontinued it. One year cars are a bitch. It took me a year and a half to figure out how to get power disk brakes. Now it's got all poly bushings and coil over suspension.
Took it on the Hot Rod Power Tour last year and had a blast. It's kinda funny to have the 442/Olds crowd asking about it. Most have never seen or heard about a Jetstar.
There's times I wish I hadn't either but I'm pretty proud of pushing through to get it this far. Once I get the Monte Carlo on the road it's going to get garaged and I will get the body work done and painted.
My first attempt at doing a trunk. It came out pretty good.
Thanks. I have to do the trunk lid still. I'll have the Olds logo embroidered on it. Too many other projects seem to get in the way.
I asked that one time and the fuckers told me it was their company property.

455 started in 1970, it was a one year engine in the Wildcat. '67-'69 was the 430.

I had a 72 bug many many moons ago. If I run across a deal on one it'll be in the driveway. I've got some money set aside for the right deal on a late fifties chevy panel truck.

Earlier Wildcats and Rivieras in GS form could get the "Super Wildcat" engine. A 425 ci with dual quads.

70 is my cutoff year. Too many changes that I don’t care for in the later years. Ideally, I wanted a split window, but walked into a deal on this 66. It has a better motor with a 73 ish AE code dual port block I rebuilt a couple years ago. Maybe soon, I’ll stuff a 2,000cc or bigger motor in it. A two rotor swap would be fun as well.
