There’s a little round rubber plug/pad under the u-shaped flush cup that looks like it’s covering up a hole. If memory serves (can’t get to my gun right now) there’s a corresponding hole on the u-shaped thing. Oh well.

I’ve resorted to putting some thick tape behind the “U” to snug it up.

Since I’m bored and idle here’s another stupid-ass near-meaningless question: the buttpad spacers’ screw holes are actually cone-shaped. Are you putting the narrow bit of the cone towards the muzzle or towards the buttpad? I’m guessing the former so it’s easier to locate the hole with the screw when attaching the buttpad.

But the hell I know?

The question is why would you want to, and for what calibre?

It’s still up in the air if AI have fixed their own AI homemade barrels. So why take the risk, when you can have a lovely Bartlein one?

If you only wanted a .308 barrel I’m sure Sporting Services have a stock of older, but brilliant LW made barrels which used to come on all their guns years ago.

A classic LW barrel that has both a crown mark and says "7.62" instead of ".308" is exactly what I wish to find.

It is not just about practicality, but collect-ability. Sure, I'm more than happy to run a very nice 2018+ Barlein/Win barrel in 1:10 twist. But I wish to take care of the original parts as well.

How many of you today wish you could get a spare original AW barrel for your AW today?

I recently sold my low mileage LW 7.62 barrel in the PX. You can always look there as well.

I bought a barrel from sporting services. I paid for it but I have to find an importer for the barrel. So that’s something to think about.

I know it doesn’t say “7.62”, but for general interest my 2023 AT bought this year from Eurooptic has this Brit stamp:

I don’t pretend to know what it means…found some shotgun proof mark references but they relate to using steel shot or not.

Just means Proofed to CIP Nitro standards. By Birmingham Proof house in 2023.

HKSniper11B - You might want to extend your search, the barrels your looking for might not have a crown on, signifying Birmingham Proof house, entirely likely you could London Proof house markings like below:

This is exactly the barrel I have, same markings, also says 7.62. Do you happen to know who makes these barrels so I can get a matching 24" version?

I’ve got two. They’re both Walther barrels if I recall, my original was the factory barrel. The other I bought as an extra barrel with the intent of cutting down/threading the OG. Shouldn’t be hard to find on the marketplace if you’re patient!

I’m taking my NF off and putting it onto a mk12 for a more appropriate optic for mammoth. A mk5 is on the way to replace it . Hard to argue the mk5 especially with the discount for me . I’ll spray paint mine and put a NF QC sticker on it 😂

Yep, 1.5 - 1.54", especially if you're going to run a rail on top of your fore end.

I'm not going to run one, and I still like my scopes mounted lower...so I went with a 1.3". It is almost too short for most dudes, but it fits me well. My cheek piece is on the first click up.

Run a 1.5 or a 1.54, because you don't want to find yourself in a situation where someone says "you can use my thermal/NV clip on" and you can't because you're not running the correct height rings.

Then later, you get to convince yourself than you need a clip on because your scope is already at the right height. :devilish:

Super easy install, pop off the old and pop in the new. I will say it is not a comfortable grip anymore if you plan to carry the rifle there.

Your other option would be the RRS BAX15(i think), which keeps the finger grooves but gives you arca and keyslot. I just think the sawtooth looks better.

I have the RRS one but that dependabilt one has an angle and daddy likes it.

I hate to say it, but my stuff shoots well on a Harris. My favorite is the Accu-Tac, but I dont think the Harris holds me back. My only gripe with the Harris is the spring loaded legs. More than once I've pulled the rifle to me in the field, had a foot catch a lump of grass, and dropped the muzzle on the ground.

Harris is kind of like the fat chick of bipods...you can get rounds off with one just fine, but don't let your friends catch you with it.

I would compare its presence in the above photo to something along the lines of a hot Italian model...but she's got a tampon string hanging out. 😉

You guys tell me what the hell I'm looking at, because the longer I look at the video screenshot, the more confused I get. As far as I can tell, it's an AT-X(C) MIL with MLOK. It has the full length ARCA bottom, along with MLOK in the mag well side, and appears to be a short action. But it has an AXSR Buttstock and grip angle. The more I stare at it the more it bugs the hell out of me.

Top photo is the AT-X(C) MIL with Keyslot. Note the overpressure hole, the angles around the extraction port, the angled cuts, etc. Then, below that is the ASR and AXSR for reference.

If the owner is on here (Looking at you, Hat Creek Training), and you can post some detailed photos of your rig plus any stories behind it, we would all appreciate it. Because if this rifle is a model that actually exists, I want one.

A member here hooked me up with his RRS Arca rail, and I changed out my BT-65NC Atlas Bipod to a BT47-NC PSR Contract Bipod, so I could continue using my classic spigot. The setup is required for an upcoming course so I could rock a tripod. Last upgrade will be the barrel to the 2018 profile Bartlein/WinTac 5R 1:10 twist, which frankly, I might need to do sooner rather than later to have the ballistics I seek from .308. The course I'm partaking in is at the end of the month, so should have some cool photos in the field to share after.

My Issued AI had all the bells and whistles. ATACR, IMUNS, clip ins, lights, lasers, lightsabers… all top of the line shit and you guessed it… a Harris 😂. I’ve never seen one fail on our team and we trained constantly(outside of deployments), ran the piss out of em and weren’t soft on em. We also didn’t have the latitude to put whatever accessory we wanted on our issued stuff. On the AI I prefer spigot mounted anything due to the height… but generally speaking a Harris won’t hold ya back. They’re good at a few things = cheap, durable, light, quick to deploy. They’re not the sexiest these days but they work. I’d not scoff at anyone with one.
