i know some folks don't have much sympathy for addicts, but it is still sad.

Fyre Festival and the Willy Wonka Experience (Scotland) were both grand, "unforgettable family fun" theme park style extravaganzas planned and organized by shadowy companies that formed overnight, rented a small room in an office building, and started collecting money. But knowing in this age they cannot just wrap up and flee after taking the money without being digitally tracked down by Internet sleuths, they put on bare minimum, almost zero effort events in some rented warehouse space, leading to even more outrage among the clients who realized that they had gotten conned. The Bridgerton Ball was the latest one.

Scammers are some of the most cowardly and shitty of bottom feeders out there, and the first line of defense against one is that you MUST be sharp and have a fast reaction to anything that is questionable in the slightest. Both this Bridgerton thing and the Willy Wonka "theme park" were organized by "companies" that had virtually no digital or professional footprint. An Internet search would have revealed that the entities behind them had just been registered with the business bureaus in their respective countries a few weeks to a month prior to them advertising their event. They had no professional records, reports detailing their net worths, or other established and solid credentials that set them as an honest business. These should have been an IMMEDIATE red flag if someone had taken the time to do some digging.

Same thing with these "1 million lumen" Amazon "Special Forces" flashlights. A simple search would reveal that the MOST powerful flashlight in current existence is the Imalent MS32 at 180,000 lumens, utilizing Luminus SFT70 HO-LEDS, the only type of emitter at the present day capable of handling the currents/heat for producing such raw power. These units have to have specialized heat dissipation systems built in for safe operation and they retail for the same price as an AR-15 rifle from a name brand manufacturer. Then you have this Amazon product showing something the size of a toothpaste tube claiming "1 million lumens" and selling for $50-110. That is the ultimate BS detector tripper right there, immediate, nanosecond. In order to avoid legal troubles, they DO send you an item, and those who were unfortunate to have been duped received a very cheap Chinese second-hand factory black plastic replica of popular tactical flashlights that do not not even feature a reflector housing, but a flat disk in the front containing an array of 9-12 very old style "raindrop bulb" white LEDs that produced a spot of weak light that barely allows you to find your keys on a nightstand table. These things would have been 'hi tech'........ in 1996. And the even more hilarious thing is that the Chinese factories that make the junker lights for these scammer LLCs are most likely the very same facilities that produce the cutting edge Fenix, Nitecore, Acebeam, and Imalent lights, but the allure of making even more money on the side has them opening other locations piecing together discarded and outdated components into units with no branding or serial numbers specifically for these scam retailers to peddle.

It’s why I vote for full legalization.

The shit we have now is to grow govt and create dependency, growing govt.

Go full legalization with personal responsibility.

It will level off in a year.

There will be clean, dead, and a small population of functional users.

That first year will require special street sweepers to remove the Soylent green.

i have agreed with this take for years. take away all Rx power. think you have cancer? treat it yourself or go to a onc doc and follow his plan if it seems reasonable. with the info available anyone can make informed decisions and take action as they see fit. actually,i believe in eliminating licensing. need a lawyer? find 1 in practice you find good references for and go forward.
addicts are sad people but it is a self acquired disease.

i have wondered about that. seeing newsome,waltz,harris,etc "elected" on the lt coast,mass,ny would be no surprise. but minn? how did that evolve? just a real mystery to me.
